Great staff and great location

The room is so humid ans dusty, got rinitis after 20 minutes in the room

You know when you meet someone online and their pictures are old or heavily filtered… similar to this hotel. The property is beautiful but definitely taken years ago. Could use some new paint and a deep cleaning in the room. Pros - beautiful location, incredible views, lobby, pools and the private beach is a black sand beach. Beds are very comfortable (but firm, if you don’t like firm you will not be happy) Easily walkable to town as long as you realize you are booking a place at the top of a hill. Very safe location and town in general. Cons - this is the only place in Costs Rica we went to that didn’t have good service. Everyone we encountered seemed annoyed. Also the only place we had some language issues. In CR you can usually get by with English but most employees only spoke Spanish AND pretended they didn’t know what you said if you didn’t speak Spanish fluently. Free breakfast was good but you can only have ONE cup of coffee OR juice. Very odd. The casino is no longer open. Tons of jelly fish on the private beach but not the main beach

This is the most terrible hotel I’ve been in my life

Beautiful property! Stunning views, very nice people and workers. Quiet place to relax which is exactly what I was looking for. I did notice that it could have been more clean… pool, terrace, fabric pool chairs. Other than that, not complaints!

Wasn’t very clean and no elevator

This proper could be a diamond in the ruff, beside being up the hill. Beach is a long walk up and down the hill, but nice and private. Pool is nice but needs some attention. Pool area was never cleaned up, shouldn’t be too hard to sweep off daily or at least every other day. If you get food out there no one comes to take condiments and dishes out of the sun, for hours.The grounds need a good clean up or maybe they’re blind to the old leafs etc just lying around. Lobby and bar and restaurant nice and clean. Maids could do a little better at fine detail cleaning but over all rooms were good. They need some new towels and bedding , very old and didn’t look very clean. It’s a shame they don’t put some effort into cleaning it up. This property really lacks maintenance and maybe a proper management. Other wise was a good stay it just a shame. Had the Land and Sea dinner last night was very good. I probably wouldn’t stay here again.

Room was dirty, musty, smelled like mold, old towel from last occupant left, room was full of mosquitos and lots were already killed and left stuck to the walls, floors were sandy and hasn’t been cleaned. No patio furniture. Drain in shower was disgusting. Bathroom smelled like raw sewer gas.

Overall, the stay was great. The property is a bit dated but the open air reception area, bar and dining area with view of the bay is magnificent. Rooms are clean, bathrooms have been updated, nice shower. Large pool. Overall fine for the money. Would stay there again.

We got the hotel on Expedia with breakfast included But the breakfast is scammed, they don’t allow you to have coffee ( in the country like Costa Rica that they have lands of coffee) they asked to only have one cup of coffee and for second one they charge you ( can’t believe they offer free breakfast but only one cup of coffee with small size of cups) The pool was not cleaned at all was lots of sand and trees leaves at the bottom of the pool The bathroom inside the room was not clean like the picture on the website and the towels was so old and over used which you don’t feel comfortable to use Anyway, wasn’t worth it to pay for this hotel
