Dunama Ocean View Hotel

The staff were amazing definitely the best part, the hotel was lovely with a great view. However, when I booked it, it was advertised as hotel and casino with tours and massages. There was no casino, unable to get a tour through the hotel and never saw anything about massages while I was there.

The photos and reviews are deceiving. The property unfortunately is run down, the pool was dirty, the bed sheets were worn down and the rooms had a weird smell. The only good thing going for them was the staff who are extremely helpful.

Catfished!!! Pictures are beautiful online. But NOT that way anymore. Dirty, unkempt, noisy, rundown!!! It was like the shining hotel in certain parts of the hotel and grounds. Like it was abandoned! Scary stairs to beach. Big holes in the deck near the beach. Debris, garbage and leaves everywhere; in the pool, under chairs, in the lobby, down the stairs. Creepy comes to mind. Could not even use the pool is was so dirty and grimy; crabs in the pool! The rooms are NOT soundproof. People littering stomping and thudding above us into the night. Room next door, people started fighting at 6am. They smelled like smoke and urine with moth ball smell to “try” and cover it up. We did not want to stay even one night upon arrival. Expedia called hotel and nothing they would do. We rearranged our fishing trip to the next day so we would be gone all day. Left the next day, forfeited a night and booked elsewhere. ONLY decent thing was the staff was nice and room was updated. DO NOT BOOK! Spend or pay more elsewhere. I promise you will regret it.

This property is absolutely nothing like the pictures show, it’s very dated and not kept up on. There is no gym nor casino, the pool was super dirty as well as the hot tub. The linen was dingy white and don’t bother asking for fresh towels. We booked a king balcony with sea view, received a balcony with very very little view due to overgrown trees and to boot, had a family room with two beds. We asked for the room we booked and were simply told they don’t have any other rooms available, we booked it months in advance so not sure how that happened. Continental breakfast you’re limited to 1 beverage and the cups are small. There is a reason why there is absolutely no refunds so keep that in mind when booking.

Photos on your site must me 25 years old. Facility and rooms need to be redone. Toilets and faucets had stains. Dead bugs on floor and squashed on walls. Dinning was great and the staff (Eric) was excellent and very helpful.

Hotel Dunama was perfect for me. Low key, not too crowded. The staff was above and beyond friendly and kind. The beds are comfortable. Good food, good drinks. There is a beautiful private beach. The pool is a good temperature and very calm. Gorgeous view of the water from the top of a hill. I’d stay there again.

Swim up rooms were nice to have, we stayed in 505, right in the middle so we could see the ocean as well. Breakfast was prompt and nice to have, choice is limited as it’s not a buffet. Coffee doesn’t start until 7:30, none for the room. Property needs updating but views make up for it. People that work there were kind and prompt as well.

We arrived and they told us that there was no space, they made us wait and when they gave us a room that was not the one we asked for, it was dirty, it smelled very bad and had dirty sheets, it looked like a room that had not been cleaned for days.
