Royal Panerai Hotel

My friend and I stayed here on 2 occasions for 1 night, both Sunday nights. The hotel was clean, but basic and not far from everything we wanted to visit. On the first occasion we were asked if we wanted twin or double, we opted for twin, the second time we were given double. Both times the rooms were clean, with AC, WiFi, towels and a tv (only 2 English channels). The first room had a slight draining issue in the shower but the second was fine. Whilst staying we visited the Sunday Street Market which is amazing! Then visited the Night Bazaar which was okay, but we preferred the Sunday Street Market. We did not try any of the food because I am vegan, so we ventured to Vegan Heaven 2 - delicious. Overall, good stay, comfy bed, clean and simple.

Stayed at Panerai many times. Good value, and so many good features for the traveler. Big rooms with Aircon, close to old city. Great position for walkers - or rent a scooter and explore....good, safe parking available.

Perfect hotel for exploring Chieng Mai in scooter or with car. Big and clean rooms.

Lovely comfortable room

The hotel is just outside the walls/moat of the old town and has some great japanese restaurants nearby. The room was big and had a clean comfy double bed. The bathroom was a good size and was also clean. There was a TV in the room, though it was an older CRT model. The staff were nice and arranged for a car to take me to the airport when I left. There is a 7 eleven just outside the hotel.

Looking for somewhere cheap but comfy this is the hotel for you. It was probably once much grander, with better facilities and a higher price. It was quiet and safe and good enough for AUD$20 per night. Would recommend to other travellers but not to my parents if that helps guide you.

Tour reception was very friendly and informative. Overall service was as expected.

hotel is a little past it's best and the room smelt of stale smoke and the bed sheets felt very old. staff were pleasant

I don't recommend this place at all. The entire place is filled with mosquitoes especially in our room. The mattress didn't seem to be so clean. Throughout our entire stay, my family and I did not feel comfortable at all sleeping on these obvious unwashed dirty bed sets. Worst place ever for our first time in Thailand.
