Clean with nice aroma as soon as we enter the hotel

Just little dangerous to walk to old town from hotel since there weren’t walking path. It’ll be nice to have a shuttle to drop and pick up from old town.

The property is absolutely stunning, with beautiful rooms, some of them with river and mountain view. The ensuite mini onsen in the room is the perfect escape from the reality of a full day's hike. The food included in the half board is tasty and beautifully presented

Love everything here! So relaxing and meaningful (about the indigenous tribe’s stories and culture). The services were all excellent and all food was delicious and beautifully presented!

Staying at Volando was the complete package!! The staff were fantastic and the location looking over the most beautiful river and to be able to relax was all part of their approach. you did not have to leave the accomodation if you didn't want too as everything was catered for to make your stay great. The building itself and its artwork stands apart and the artist who created the drums and brass sculptures is integral to Volando ( you will learn why). Their ceremonies were memorable. The spa component was a highlight and it was wonderful to just come and go as you liked to use the facilities. The massage treatments were some of the best we have experienced. We enjoyed the delicious array of food and both the chinese and french fare were very good. Our room which had a river view was lovely and unassumingly perfect. Also we really loved the area of Wulan and our hosts gave us a map and great advice of the area and what to try, the little railway and the gondola to the waterfalls was fun. A huge thankyou again to the Volando team for making our stay so beautiful.

Nothing actually, will be great if there is more activities to do or have yoga/gym classes. Resort is starting to have signs of being a little run-down, time for an upkeep.

An incredible stay at the resort. It's truly an experience to live with a dedicated but discreet team ! Even if the price may be high for Taiwan, note that it's a relais château and you're entirely taken care of from breakfast to night snack ! It is worth it and great value for money

The service was exceptional, from the front desk to the restaurants to the spa. I almost cried when we were shown our room. It was huge and had a beautiful view of the tranquil river outside. The spa was excellent, there is a public portion that is also great! The hotel was a really short walk to the historic village, where we took a tram up the mountain. The village had amazing street food. The food in the hotel was gastronomy and one could tell that great care went into the planning and preparation of it. The room was supplied with coffee and tea and snacks. All in all, it was very hard to say goodbye. Great accommodation and service for the price.

There was nothing I didn't like about this place and we will go back on our next trip to Taipei. It's a great place to get over jet lag and the uber from Taoyuan airport cost less than our airport ride in Los Angeles.
