Shangri-La Toronto

I do not recommend the Shangri-La. I booked this hotel 2.5 months ago for a work conference. I was emailed (not even called) the night prior to flying to Toronto that my room was being cancelled and I was being moved to a different hotel (of a lower category). When we called, we were told no one could help us and we did not have a choice. I realize that the world series is now happening in Toronto, but my booking was confirmed months ago. I find it extremely unprofessional to cancel my reservation and move me, without my consent, to another hotel. I was even given the option to pay to upgrade my room 2 days prior, so clearly there was capacity at this point. We have called around to find something similar and with such late notice, everything is booked up and/or prices are insanely marked up. This happened to several of us in our group, all booked well in advance.

TERRIBLE experience with Shangri-La. Do not book if you want to actually stay somewhere. The day before my departure to Toronto received an email stating that I was. being moved to a different hotel citing 'overbooking' all of a sudden when the World Series came to town. They obviously wanted to sell rooms at a higher rate and kicked out returning customers to do it. I will NEVER book them again.

The best hotel I have ever stayed at. The room was spacious and immaculate. There were more amenities than I thought possible from toiletries to being able to order special bath products and lavender pillows. The turn down service was awesome. I felt pampered from the moment I arrived till I checked out. Lastly the location was perfect you felt like you were in the middle of everything. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely book again when I am in Toronto.

So comfortable and in a brilliant central location close to 2 Subway stations so anywhere in Toronto central is either a short walk or a short ride. Room was immaculate with housekeeping and turn down. So comfortable and i wish could we have brought the bed home. Best nights sleep all year. Staff were friendly and professional. Considering it's listed as one of the best hotels in Toronto it was relatively cheap. Our first experience of a Shangri-la hotel and i was very impressed The spa, restaurant and bar were all equally good and worth a mention. Could not fault our stay and would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in Toronto

We were staying here for our wedding. The hotel, upon check-in, told us there was unexpected “maintenance” and said they have to relocate us to another hotel Saturday night. They left no details on what the “maintenance “ was - it’s completely unacceptable this caliber of hotel and luxury scale would do this to PAYING customers at CHECK-IN.

Lovely gym, pool and sauna area. Prime location. We really enjoyed the live entertainment while having a cocktail in the lobby.

First impression the lobby was outstanding. Beautiful setting with a great vibe. However we arrived well over a hour after our check-in time and instead of going right to our room we were informed our room wasn’t ready and they were going to charge us $75 to upgrade to a room that was ready. The room was nothing special it didn’t even have a c-charger port to charge our modern phones and the hotel phones are terribly out of date, could barely make out the person on the other end when calling front desk. Overall it was fine, gorgeous facility but nowhere close to worth the cost. Wouldn’t book again.
