"Ideal for a short break for walkers, super breakfast."

7.0

Very good breakfast, ideal to start a day's walking. Room tired and basic, but didn't expect Hilton quality - was cheap and ideal for my 2 nights.

No evening food, but good food available nearby.

"Great location, comfortable room, would stay again when in the area."

Best breakfast of our trip 'up north'. Comfortable room and good location to explore Lyme Park from.

Bed was a bit soft for me, but I could sleep on a plank!

"It was convenient for my requirements in that area."

6.0

the location was right for my needs following a friends celebration. lovely view from my room.

There was an amount of mould around the floor area by the window. No bedside table as the bed was right against the far wall and the door opened directly on to the bed. No parking available at the hotel as it was full, maybe not with guests though. I had to park a short walk away in a public car park which charged from 8am. However, I quickly moved my car before I had breakfast to the hotel parking where there was now a space.

"The potential to be fantastic..!"

5.0

The staff were friendly, helpful, responsive and were very reasonable when I had booked two nights but was called away for work so could only do the one night. The location is superb for hiking and exploring and is not far from local towns and pubs for food as this pub only serves breakfasts. I didn't spend any time in the bar area but there was TV with sport on and games to play with a good selection of drinks at the bar. The building felt safe and there was a separate entrance to the rooms for guests. There was tea& coffee available and biscuits on arrival which was a nice touch. The views from the windows were great, too.

I couldn't park on the main driveway due to only 5 or 6 spaces being available (2 of which are for local residents), meaning I had to park in a local carpark which is pay & display and out of sight from the pub. This wasn't ideal after a 5 hour trip. I had expensive camping equipment in the car and left me worrying about it being broken into or stolen, plus also having to pay for parking before I checked out for the day adding to costs. I would say the room was generally clean, except there was black mould up the wall by the window, on the window frames, and in the window corners. There were also black marks on the carpet near the radiators as well as in the shower. For me, the overall quality of the room had the biggest influence on my stay. This has the potential to be a fantastic place to stay, but it desperately needs updating and some attention.
