"A beautiful spot in paradise"

10.0

Monte Solaro B&B is situated on one of the most beautiful places in the world, close to the top on Monte Solaro, offering a stunning view of the Bay of Naples. The rooms are beautiful, immaculately clean, and very comfortable, opening to a large porch where you can enjoy the view while sipping on a glass of wine or excellent espresso. The owner, Costanzo, could not be more helpful, offering rides to and from the village any time of the day or evening, suggesting great places to visit, shop and eat. Any request was quickly and efficiently fulfilled. Highly recommended to all travelers

"Quiet, charming spot away from the crowds"

8.0

Very charming and great for those that like to get away from the crowds at the end of the day. Be sure to contact them before your stay on clear instructions for how to get picked up in Anacapri. We walked up with our very heavy suitcase, which was a mistake.

"Great view... nice, clean room"

10.0

Views from the terrace were absolutely gorgeous, you can sit and watch sunset with a glass of good wine. Clean room, very spacious bathroom/shower, good breakfast. There is a pretty steep walk up the hill for the last 100-150 meters, we enjoyed it as an extra exercise. But if someone was not up to it, there was always car available to drive you up (or down). Very good stay overall.

"Nice, cosy and intimate little structure."

10.0

Located on an elevation in Anacapri, The view will take your breath away :) you will almost want to just chill in your veranda and keep staring ,rather than visit around :) It was a half planned trip with no real preset schedule, I only wish I could have stayed longer. Definitely, going back as soon as possible. I travel, extensively, at times and I can range between all kind of levels of lodging and I would take Monte Solaro B&B over many many more expensive and luxurious hotels. It's so genuine and peaceful. well, I think I should stop before I write a poem or a song about it ,LOL. On a side note, at a short walk to Via Orlandi , try not to miss the artisanal shoemaker Antonio Viva. He will make custom made to measure shoes for you at a surprisingly affordable price. Last but not least, I really hate to leave bad reviews, but avoid the Pizzeria Al Buco like the plague. I have an extremely high tolerance to bad service and massive understanding when things don't go as planned, due to my actual and previous professional experiences, but the owner is, hands down, the rudest and most condescending person I have met in a many years. Absolute ignorance about decent customer service and excellence in arrogance. Yes, he thinks he's someone because he has some money and can exploit and mistreat his employees and be disrespectful to customers but it looks like he managed to have a monopoly on "certain" aspects of the local market, so no real existing competition at certain hour.

"Charmed by the stunning location, views and hosts"

10.0

Firstly the location is OUTSTANDING because it is elevated high above Anacapri. All rooms have the beautiful view overlooking the western bay of Napoli and the islands of Procida and Ischia, meaning you will always see the sunset. Each bedroom (only 5) open out directly onto the large terrace, where you can sit and enjoy the view. Although we did not use it,(as we stayed out of season) there is a pool with lounging area above which also enjoys this outstanding view. The family who run the property cannot do enough for you to ensure your stay is brilliant. This includes offering a free lift up the steep hill to the property. We were made to feel part of the family and were invited to join them for drinks and food on New Year's Eve which was very special indeed. Constanzo will be, undoubtedly your main point of contact during your stay, his English is excellent and he is very knowledgable and supportive if you are planning any trips. Anacapri is a revelation as it has a local vibe without beng uber chique or expensive. Indeed it is quite a contrast to find working farms so near to the designer shops in Capri town. It feels like another world which enhances your experience. Access to beautiful walks and the chair lift to Monte Solaro summit are all minutes away by foot. Public transport by bus or taxi to Capri town or the Blue Grotto are very frequent. We walked to many beautiful spots from the B&B, it was wonderful if you like walking. A real gem of a place.

"Welcoming B&B with Impressive Sunsets"

10.0

We enjoyed our stay here so much that we extended it another day and decided to skip our visit to Naples! Staying in Anacapri is the way to go in my opinion. Capri is also very charming, but with a more touristy and commercial feel. Our host was very helpful in recommending some great sites to visit. Hiking the Path of the Little Forts, taking the chairlift to Monte Solaro (5 min. walk from the B&B) to see the spectacular views, and walking along the scenic coastline to Bagni di Tiberio beach were a few of the highlights. Costanzo was very friendly and accommodating. He offered us rides, but we actually didn't mind the steep incline up to the property. We stayed here as part of our honeymoon trip to the Amalfi coast and did a lot of research to make sure we were picking a good place. We loved Monte Solaro and would definitely stay here again!

"View from the top of Capri!"

8.0

First timer in Capri with the fiancee, traveling during the shoulder season (early/mid Oct)...we found our stay perfect for what we were looking to do. Monte Solaro is situated 300 steps right behind the main bus station / town center of Anacapri. (The stairs were not bad, there are stairs everywhere in capri and amalfi, so we were used to it by the time we got to Capri) The owner /manager does take your luggage up/down to the hotel from the town center by a Jeep. The hotel itself is a fantastic location. Amazing place to watch the sunset with views of Ischia, Naples and the coastline from the hotel. We actually thought this was one of the best views from the island. Very short walk to the town of Anacapri which have many restaurants to choose from. Very peaceful town. Because the hotel is right behind the bus station, it was easy to jump on the bus down to the Blue Grotto during the day and the go around to Capri (20min bus ride away) and other places. We were actually glad to stay in Anacapri and avoid what seemed like a crowded and more touristy Capri (think high end designer stores in Capri / pricey restaurants vs. local shops / fare in Anacapri) both towns being equally walk-able/developed. Constanzo, the hotel manager, was a great host and very helpful in offering tips, figuring out transportation, etc (and his English is very good). Breakfast was simple, but included the most delicious, smooth/frothy home-made cappuccinos we had on our trip.

"Amazing views"

10.0

We enjoyed our time at Monte Solaro. We were dogged with inclement weather but Costanzo drove us to town the first night. By the next day, the sun came out and the views are spectacular. You are also removed from some of the bustle of town. Clean, friendly service.

"Top of the hill, should be top of your list."

10.0

Don't get too overwhelmed in Capri when you get off the ferry! Find the ticket office for the funicular and local bus (the tickets look the same and cost 1.8 euros each) then ride the funicular up and catch the local bus to Anacapri. Then CALL the hotel Monte Solaro. Trust me, you do not want to walk up this hill with luggage. But, you will be glad that you came to this island and especially this place if you do. Costanzzo was so friendly and helpful. He made reservations for us for dinner and the restaurant comes to pick you up at the bottom of the hill. He also told us when to be back for sunset (perfect) and even ran ahead after driving us up the hill to make sure our chairs were out to face the best view. I got up the next morning early to see the sunrise and then found the warm croissant were wrapped in a napkin by my plate, very yummy.
