"Do not go and do not buy the package"

2.0

We purchased a package that included tours, meals and accommodation in Cahal Peche and Caye Caulker. We stayed at Cahal Peche 4 nights, every night we had big problems ordering our meals as none of the staff were aware of how much the package included. Every night we had a different waiter with a different answer. In the 3 rd night we ordered exactly the same meals as on our first night. The waitress couldn’t get an answer on how much we could spend on our package, but had ordered our meals. We waited so long for her to sort it out, our meals were stone cold. Then she told us we had spent too much and gave us a bill. We lost it, the manager came over and apologised and said we could have our drinks for free, guess what, the waitress made us pay! It was a nightmare and really spoiled our time there. Then we go to Caye Caulker, we were to have the mid price room for 4 nights. Instead we got a dinghy, noisey room at the back of the hotel overlooking the garage, laundry and rubbish bins, no pool or ocean view as promised to us. I contacted the owner who said it would be fixed, all he actually did was tell me oh sorry and thanks for letting me know so we don’t book that room again. We were furious and this ruined our trip. Don’t go to Cahal Peche Hotel and definitely DO NOT book a package deal.

We stayed in a cabana for three days. There is a cloth above the bed covered in lizard $h**. Monster sized bugs were in our unit every night. The lock is easily picked with a butter knife. We couldn’t leave anything of value in our cabana and feel safe about it. The cabanas are outdated and smell like mildew. The food is average and they change the menu if they have to accommodate groups. We went for breakfast at 9:00am and were told only the buffet was available. It was all cold and old. Not worth $1.00!! I was looking forward to a certain menu item, but they had a smaller menu because of a wedding and wouldn’t make an item ON THE MENU! At least let your guests know prior to dinner service, so they can plan accordingly!! Most of the staff do not like their jobs. Wendy, and Izreal are the exception. They were always nice and understand how hospitality works!!

I was really disappointed by the front desk when I asked if they could help arrange a shuttle to the airport. The staff said it would cost $168. When I mentioned the cost seemed excessive there was no mention of more affordable alternatives. Other hotels would have arranged the shuttle service for me. I easily booked the shuttle online through Gekko travels for $25. The hotel was also slow to respond to messages.

You could spend your entire time here. But they arranged a tour for me to ATM caves, as well as transport to and from the airport and ferry.

The hotel is on the top of the town with an amazing view. We stayed in a cabana. It has windows a roof and a.c Wich worked great. The staff was amazing. Daniel helped us all day and was wonderful. The food is good and drinks range in price from 8 to 22bzd. There is ruins at the hotels doorstep named the same as the hotel, with the larger ruins only 5 min drive away. The cabana had a screened in area with a deck and a hammock. I will be returning

Decent room and service. Best part was food and drinks! Don't book tours through the hotel. They're more expensive. Overall, good stay.

The view of San Ignacio and Guatemala in the background can’t be beat. Food and wait staff were great. Also, enjoyed the nearby Obsidian restaurant and their staff. Some walkways are uneven including to the cabana we stayed in & lighting on those paths varied. Loved no phone in room. But prepared for no other extras, like drinking water, coffee/tea, fridge, hairdryer or iron. 3 stars for lack of amenities, uneven walkeays and poor path lighting
