The Coolidge Corner Guest House: A Brookline Bed and Breakfast

The BnB was very cosy, the breakfast was great with many options to pick from, the place was very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful.

The BnB is located in an old house where sound insulation is an issue. We were, however, provided with earbuds, so that countered the problem.

Be aware guests - the washing machine on site is a killer! My newly purchased outfit was discolored after the wash - it appears that the cleaning ladies might have left bleach that they used for washing the beddings in the washing machine! I was so embarrassed to wear the discolored outfit the next day! Am still waiting for the Guest House management to provide me a solution re my new outfit that I just bought inSingapore prior to arriving in Boston. The location is good though, and short distance to Boston University where my so is doing his freshman year.

Charming old house, very convenient to the green line and hence to downtown Boston. Very quiet area, with plenty of restaurants and other stores in the neighborhood. Quiet room with comfortable beds.

Breakfast could be improved. It’s a historic house with wooden floors so it’s easy to hear other people’s noises. While we were there, all guests were very respectful and so during the night it was perfectly quiet.

The bed was comfortable and the staff were lovely. The hosts were really responsive and organised.

Coffee wasn’t kept hot so we were craving a good cup of coffee. But the staff was so sweet it wasn’t necessarily their fault. Perhaps a “keep warm” function on the drip coffee machine just needs to be pressed.

The bed was very comfortable, the whole place seemed clean, and the breakfast was a nice bonus!

Lovely room, great location.

We found the stay had nice character and plenty of space. The governors suite is advertised as having a private bathroom but we were confused to find it at the opposite end of the hall near other rooms so we had to walk down the hall with our toiletries - not what we thought we were booking. Our power went out as it was cold in the rooms and we had tiny space heaters - one didn’t work at all and the other we think blew out our power. We called the number listed as there was no staff on site and after leaving a message we received a text and the housekeeper came and was able to fix it for us. The coffee was very good and overall our stay met our needs.
