Wow. Perfect hotel. Excellent hotel, perfect location. No need to leave the hotel. There is a solution for everything you could want. From slides for children, inflatables, tubes, a pool for adults, a pool for children, a lifebelt. We took a room with an exit to the pool - the most perfect thing we could ask for! An extraordinary experience, the staff goes out of their way, very helpful and courteous. A private beach strip for the hotel further from the exit from the pools.

Almost everything about our stay was excellent. The pools were fantastic and a real highlight for the whole family. Breakfast was good and well worth the price. The staff at the Flying Market restaurant and in the kids club were exceptionally friendly and provided great service. The only downsides were the slow-running water and inconsistent shower temperature in our room, which unfortunately were not fixed despite informing the staff, and the lack of evening activities — the hotel feels completely dead at night with nothing to do.

Lovely hotel in the heart of Khao Lak centre. Very convenient for exploring outside the hotel, with town on your doorstep. Staff very friendly, nothing too much trouble. We stayed in a sea view suite which was clean and had plenty of space. Also managed early check in which was appreciated after travelling for 24hrs. Would stay again. As I've only written negative reviews on TripAdvisor, I thought I would backtrack and write some positive ones on places I had visited before. I was at The Sands in Thailand almost two years ago and couldn't be happier with the grounds, rooms, people, food, etc. For those who don't know, this is one of the places that got devastated by the Tsunami. While it has recovered, there are still places to visit and pay your respects very near this resort. It's a sharp contrast while staying in such luxury. While you are there, you have your choice of amazing Thai food or American food in several dining areas. We took a package that allowed us to take advantage of both and get massages a few times while we were there. Excellent! We also upgraded our room so that we had a private pool which was wonderful since it was so hot. Head back to your air conditioned room and take a dip. The grounds are right on the beach so you can walk everywhere. I loved going to the outdoor cocktail lounge at night for special drinks (which were included in my package) and having dinner late. During our trip we scuba'ed, swam, attended holiday services, met with monks, went to markets etc. Our incredible concierge helped to arrange special outings that helped us to enjoy the real culture of Thailand. When I overheated, the nurse was quick to rescue and then check in on me. I know it's a long flight. And, it's so worth it. Wonderful vacation at a fantastic place. I highly recommend.

This was our fourth time staying at The Sands Khao Lak, and once again we had a fantastic holiday! We always book the Family Pool Access room, which is absolutely worth every cent - perfect for families who enjoy both comfort and easy access to the pool. Unfortunately, for the second year in a row, there was a mix-up upon arrival, and we were initially assigned a Junior Suite Pool Access instead of the Family Pool Access we had booked. I had even sent a message to the hotel in advance to make sure this wouldn’t happen again, so it was a bit disappointing to face the same issue. That said, the staff were quick to solve the problem during check-in and we got the correct room type without delay. Still, it does take away a bit from the otherwise smooth check-in process. The hotel itself continues to exceed expectations. Our children absolutely love the water slides and the lazy river - it’s a true paradise for families with kids! The newly renovated Floating Market where breakfast is served was excellent - great variety, fresh options, and a lovely atmosphere. I was a little sad to see that my favorite drink, butterfly pea juice, wasn’t available at breakfast. But when I asked about it, it magically appeared on the juice table the very next morning. Now that is five-star service! The entire hotel staff work incredibly hard and put in long days, yet they always greet you with a smile, ask how you’re doing, and make sure you have everything you need. A heartfelt thank you to them - you truly make the difference! All in all, we had another relaxing and fun-filled stay at The Sands. Thank you for making our holiday special once again - hopefully, we’ll be back next year!

The manager Puran followed up our review from July 21.He was extremely polite and assured us that he had followed up our experience with check in and room facilities and that staff would be reviewing their procedures.He did advise that the resort is a very large family resort and we are used to boutique resorts.That said if I was bringing grandchildren I would definitely use this resort as it is geared for chn 1-12.We very much appreciate Puran following up in such a professional manner.Well done.

The location of this resort is good and it has a beautiful beach with gorgeous sunset’s. We booked this hotel because of the little water park for the kids but it is better for much younger kids. This hotel had breakfast included but we never ate from the breakfast area as it was always chaotic. The room is cute with the double bunk beds for the kids but the room is very basic. Overall if you are looking for a resort where everything is overcrowded then this will be a great place to stay. For us we prefer a more peaceful resort and this resort does not give you that feel.

A great staff, from bell service to room service, kind and nice. Popmary and Owen are great guys that help fast in any request.
