Poas Volcano Lodge

So let me start by saying I loved the property. It was absolutely beautiful and stunning to wake up every morning to such a beautiful place and view. The staff is general were great. Few things that basically didn’t allow me to give it an excellent rating. 1) really far from anywhere. Had I known this I would have rented a car earlier and would have not stayed as long in one spot. 2) We were bumped off two days earlier due to a large group coming. Which was communicated to us prior to our trip. We knew this issue and didn’t have a problem with it. However the night before our check out they alleged we knew we were going to move rooms. I told management we were never told this. She said the group wanted the cabins we were staying. We were NOT happy with this, but when they showed us the other rooms we accommodated them and moved to the other rooms. Well the group arrived and they hung out in the main house which we were staying. They began to drink and became louder and louder by the hour. We could NOT sleep and had to ask the front desk many times to get them the quiet down. It was after 1:30 AM that the group finally left for bed. But had I stated to management on my check out that we should have never moved. They should have made them stay in those rooms since they would have all be together and could have been as loud as they wanted to. We moved to accommodate management and that group. Green light in room annoying.

Excellent hotel. And I gave 5 stars on every category except overall rating. The sole problem was that this hotel is at very high elevation - its cold at night and sole heat was a space heater - we did not sleep well and of course a good night’s sleep is important during a vacation.

The staff was very understanding with our last minute booking! Nice interior design and pleasant green surroundings, 10/10.

The room was so nice, comfortable and big. The staff is nice and breakfast was delicious. The view is amazing and the drive to the location was cool

Very clean, gorgeous landscape, quiet, comfortable, friendly and helpful staff. We had breakfast (included) and a beautiful, candlelit dinner at the hotel. Food is delicious, super fresh with many products (butter, granola, strawberry jam, cheese) made on the property. Convenient to Poas Volcano and La Paz Waterfall Park. Highly recommend.

It was a beautiful cozy, elegant country lodge with modern facilities, great food really nice people. Just make sure you bring rain coat and rain boots, and sweatshirts. We had driver Wilberth he was amazing and staff very friendly and professional

Main lodge was beautiful, a large fireplace would be nice, rooms needed to be updated

Staff was very friendly & helpful! Very close to the Poas Volcano and La Paz waterfall. No gym, no TV.

Great place

We only stayed one night. Check-in was simple and easy, The staff were all very friendly. The property is gorgeous and unique. Weather was really rainy and wet, so we didn't get to explore too much around the outside of the property. Our room was exactly as described and quiet, however, the walls are somewhat thin and you can hear other guests but not in a horrible way. It's more like a comfortable home rather than a hotel. The dining room was lovely, dinner was nice and the included breakfast was delicious. Delicious! It's a really neat area and we left the next morning to go straight to the volcano so everything was convenient and scenic.
