Hotel Octave

Nice inexpensive with very good staff who are willing to go the extra mile. Met me at the airport, got me to the hotel without any hassle. Breakfast in the morning. Would stay there again.

We had an overnight stay on Male (hotel island) so we chose Octave Hotel. It's reasonably priced with free wifi and breakfast, which is great thing when you're traveling. The hotel staff was friendly and the room very comfortable. We were put in a spacious suite room, which had a washing machine and kitchen. We were happy that we could do our laundry before we went to Sri Lanka but recommend doing wash in the early afternoon so you can dry everything under the strong fans. One great thing about the hotel was that they are there for you when you arrive at airport island from your flight or from your resort. They take you to the hotel for check-in and then back after check-out for free (tips are appreciated, of course). The only thing we were disappointed in was not 100% under the hotel's control. We arrived on Friday afternoon and almost everything in the city was closed for prayers. Try to avoid Fri afternoon in Male or at least eat at the airport before you board the water taxi, if possible. Anyway, the hotel staff led us to one of the few open restaurants, called Gourmet. Gourmet was very expensive and did not have Maldivian food (the noodle dish we ordered was good). I wish we'd have stopped at one of the open local restaurants we passed. * Make sure you get a hotel map before you go out. The crowded, compact streets of Male are tricky to navigate. All-in-all we'd stay at Octave again and recommend it to friends who want to experience Male island for a night.

OLnly stayed here the 1 night on our way to a resort. They met us at the hotel, paid for the ferry trip to the mainland, met us again and a free taxi to the hotel! Surely that says it all! No - they did it all again in reverse the following morning. We had a very comfortable room on the top floor. Had all we needed - plenty of water and a hot breakfast in the morning. Would highly recommend staying here.

Hotel Octave was a very nice surprise in the middle of Malé, with top quality service and very close to all the attractions in the city-island.

Needed a place to stay over night before we continued on our trip. The room was ok for what I paid. Only one slight issue was that the hotel was not too sure which airline to put me on for our seaplane. It was corrected at the airport. For a one night stay it was acceptable.

The free pick-up/transfer service was excellent. The staff members were very friendly. But the bed was terrible. It made cracking noise whenever you moved or made turns. The mattress was uncomfortable too! We didn't get a good night sleep before heading to our resort.

My wife and I are taking the night flight to Male. We decided to stay one night at Male city before proceed to the resort the following day. When we reached the airport, we are welcome by the hotel staff and was accompany from taking the boat to Male city until to the hotel. We were upgraded to suite room due to the water supply problem facing by whole citizens of Maldives. Overall is a nice pleasant one night stay and would definitely return for a stay there.
