Ambong Rainforest Retreat

My daughter and I stayed in Tepur 3. Magnificent views in the middle of a rainforest. I have never stayed anywhere with such genuinely lovely staff.

I had a great stay - service was excellent, from housekeeping over restaurant staff to my spa experience. I enjoyed the facilities, especially sitting on my balcony taking in the beautiful surroundings. Thank you!

We had a wonderful time staying at this hotel. The lush greenery provides a hideaway from the Langkawi heat, facilities are beautiful. Room was spacious and had everything we needed and more. There was a wonderful view from the balcony. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay is comfortable. The property is steep but there is a car which can give you a little lift whenever needed. To be fair the little climb or decent is actually quite pleasant anyway. Breakfast is delicious, with both local and western flavor options. Yoga provided in the hotel is a great addition in a beautiful space. There is even a little medicinal herbal garden you can walk through on the side. The spa has nice and aesthetic facility. The location is very close to beaches and lots of other nice restaurants, it’s very easy to either walk over or take a quick car through Grab. All in all we had a wonderful time staying here and would recommend anyone to come here!

We had a lovely few days at Ambong Ambong. It is a very unique stay in the rainforest- you can see lots of monkeys and other wildlife and the views are incredible. The staff are lovely and always there to give you a lift up the hill or help with a question. The rooms are comfortable and spacious and the breakfast was also lovely with the option of going to Rimba restaurant or Pegaga. We also liked the yoga classes and had a lovely massage. We enjoyed that the hotel was away from the main town but you could still get in really easily. Overall a great stay!

Private, relaxing stay in the forest hills nearby to restaurants, beaches and Porto Malai were cruises depart. Good for our family with teenage children. Nice view especially sunset from thr sister resort restaurant.

My husband and I have just had a wonderful week staying in Ambong Ambong. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left the place had been just perfect, made even more special by all the staff. A special mention to Mr Lee and Nizal who are such great ambassadors for the place. We stayed in Singa 3, one of their suites. The views are sublime and we were greeted with a lovely welcome message made from flowers. You are provided with tea and coffee plus fizzy drinks which are replenished everyday day. Whilst there’s no denying it is quite a walk up( not so bad coming down!) somebody is always on hand to give you a lift up or down via WhatsApp. And the walk is lovely through so much vegetation. Breakfast was super tasty in both restaurants, and we had a good meal one evening in the Singa restaurant with breathtaking views of the sunset. The rest of the time we ate out as it’s very easy to order a grab. I had a super massage one morning. The room was very tranquil. We had an afternoon round the pool and although it’s small the surroundings make you feel as if you’re in a rainforst. All in all I would highly recommend staying here if you want to feel as if you’re in the rainforest whilst having all the amenities on your doorstep

Excellent 5 star service with a perfect room. All in all everybody we met in Langkawi were exceptionally friendly and helping. Ambong rainforest retreat was one of the best hotel experiences we’ve had. Hotel room pictures in the website dont do justice in my opinion. The rooms are more beautiful on site. The staff was always helping with a smile and we never felt that we are bothering them with our requests. There were friendly monkeys on site and geckos during evenings but we rarely saw any mosquitos. Naturelovers best choice! Didnt use the pool which is kind of small but no problem to us. Beaches nearby. Morning yoga was done professionally and we did enjoy that. It was also included. All in all 10/10 experience and would recommend to anyone looking for a unique accommodation with premium service instead of usual luxury resorts. This was also luxury experience. Absolutely stunning hotel, rooms secluded in the rainforest canopy. Breathtaking views over the Andaman Sea We felt welcomed from the first moment we arrived. We had a tasty drink and quick shoulder/neck massage. Staff were just superb shuttling us up and down and over to the sister resort and restaurant for breakfast. Lovely choices for breakfast and we had dinner there twice, worth it to see the sunset. We had an early check out so they kindly provided a continental breakfast for us, leaving it in the fridge when we were out. Housekeeping came several times a day so the rooms were just immaculate. Free drinks in the room, great little kitchenette, lovely balcony, plenty of mosquito repellent provided. Took advantage of the spa therapy room - excellent One of the nicest places we’ve ever stayed at. We would definitely return given the chance.

My partner and I visited Langkawi for the first time, and Ambong Rainforest Retreat was a memorable component. The ocean/greenery views from our Canopy Suite, and especially Rimba Sky, were breathtaking. While the location is tranquil and immersed in nature, it's just minutes away from the vibrancy of Pantai Cenang. The resort is quiet and clean with daily housekeeping. Amenities wise, the spa was deeply relaxing, and the pool was fantastic for a mid-day dip. Breakfast at Rimba was tasty and filling. From our suite, we were treated to the sight of monkeys and dusky leaf langurs.. a rainforest experience indeed! Do beware when you dine at Pegaga though, the monkeys can be very cheeky and one almost sneaked up on us, eyeing our breakfast. The best part was their warm and hospitable staff who handled our requests with great efficiency. They are super responsive and quick to help whenever we needed transport within the resort’s premises, and even during a panic moment when I thought I’d misplaced my passport/wallet. They even delivered our Grabfood at night. (Note that their shuttle service ends before midnight, so you may have difficulty returning if you need transport past midnight — we didn’t try so I’m not sure how that’d work.) The service is personalised, and their staff executed my special requests well which made my partner's birthday more special. We enjoyed our night with a custom in-suite wooden-tub setup with rose petals and essential oil, along with some wine, snacks, and a vegan carrot cake they prepared for us. We hope to be back.

Ambong Ambong exceeded my expectations far beyond my imagination. As someone who frequents Langkawi, it gave me a refreshed perspective and renewed love for the island and its amazing offerings beyond beaches. The hospitality and service from the friendly team, sunrise yoga classes, sunset Rimba restaurant view and dinner, local insider tips to waterfalls, and food options were so authentic and genuine. I truly enjoyed our time there, and they even made it special because it was my 10th wedding anniversary. Definitely coming back and truly a 5-star experience for Ambong Ambong!
