Nakamuraya Ryokan

Very clean, very helpful staff, nice central location, good price. Well worth it.

Compared to my earlier stays in Ryokans throughout Japan, Nakamuraya is just not good enough. Their Onsen is a laugh, barely bigger than my bathtub at home and cramped inside the building with no veiws to the outside. Their food is just about adequate, nothing to write home about. In short - not impressed!!

Unique Japanese experience in the central area of Sapporo. Luggage storage area is very small as luggage cannot be taken into the main room.

Location was fantastic. A 10 -15 minute walk to any popular location or Sapporo train station. Next to the Botanical Gardens which was a bonus. Room was spacious enough for the 2 of us. Very clean & surprisingly comfortable. The staff we're lovely and very accomodating. I would certainly recommend this Ryokan .

The location is excellent. Also a 7-11 is just around the corner. I could’t find anywhere better with this price and location. Hospitality and housekeeping were great, nothing to complain. I liked the daily green tea. I’ll definitely stay here again when visiting Sapporo.

This ryokan carries a great reputation, but it feels more like a small hotel/hostel than a traditional ryokan. Staff are pleasant and it contains the features of a ryokan, but it is large with a cafe and lacks the warmth of the more traditional ryokans, which are still the homes of their owners.

Great Ryokan for an affordable price. Truly authentic Japanese style. Only thing to keep in mind is that the lobby is a smoking area. My room was above the lobby so I could smell it all night long. The staff sent me an air purifier which helped. Breakfast was great and everyone was super nice

We went to Gunma without booking any hotel. We saw an information service that helped us find hotel nearby. She recommended this ryokan to us. But it is sad to say, we had unpleasant stay here. The room looks fine. It's old but clean and that's maybe the only good thing about this place and everything else was disappointing. we checked in around 15:30 and they told us that they won't be able to serve us food as we checked in late. Which surprised me and my husband but we still considerated it. But then, we didn't know that we won't get breakfast too. Which I don't really understand and they charged us at the same price that should include food. We had to prepare for our futon. I dont know if that's the rules but I wasn't happy with that as well. And when we checked out, it was raining heavily, there were a lot of umbrella at the front and I thought that a staff would be kind enough to lend us umbrella as we had to walk to the parking area to get our car. And again, another disappointing moment. They didn't assist us nor lend us umbrella. Definitely not coming back here again. Not worth the money at all.

I stayed here one night in early April. I picked this location for the ryokan experience, its location (withiin 10 mins. walk of Sapporo Station), and other reviews. The communal onsen bath (gender separate) is open 24hrs. and was very relaxing. I made good use of the laundry facility which happened to be on my floor. Best of all, the staff who showed me my room and explained everything were possibly the most friendly and helpful hotel staff I've ever met. Same for the kitchen staff in the morning when they helped me with breakfast. In-room dining service is available from a large menu at very reasonable prices. I look forward to coming back here again and hope that everything is exactly the same.
