"Great and welcoming experience"

10.0

Just right opposite former government building which is very beautiful during white winter. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Deposited my luggage as I arrived early and when I returned to check in at night, my luggage was already in my room and was welcomed with mochi and tea. A little cold in winter though but had a wonderful ryokan experience.

"Quite roomy and comfortable "

8.0

The tatami and pillow were comfortable. Room size ok and can open 4 suitcases flat on the floor. Loved the welcome cakes which were delicious. We also prepared Japanese tea to go with the cakes. Toilet was a bit compact but sufficient. Separate sink is practical to have two persons doing different things at the same time. There was hot bath available also but we didn’t try this time. Overall not bad a hotel and reception was very friendly. Only downside was a bit far from JR station and it was difficult to take the suitcase to walk on snow covered streets.

"Welcome to Sapporo!"

10.0

the location was great - i've been wanting to stay in a ryokan that is located in a very convenient place. about 15 mins walk to the train station. they kindly agreed to keep my bag because i arrived early, and moved my bag to the room before i arrived which was very much appreciated. they bring you up to the room and the staff will prepare traditional green tea. you can pay for a traditional japanese dinner and breakfast. i tried breakfast, which was so-so, some japanese food, some western small buffet. the front office staff speaks english well and very courteous. for pokemon fans, there are 2 pokestop right outside the property!”

"Love it!"

10.0

This is not any luxurious, high end hotel. I chose this over many hotels in Sapporo because I want a traditional style (tatami) rather than bed western style. Proximity to JR Sapporo station is a must, only about 10 minutes walk, easy access everywhere. Taxi ride when it was icy and snowy from station cost less than 700 yen. We walked everywhere: Odori Park, JR Sapporo and the malls above, underground walking streets to all Poletown, Susukino, Tanukikoji, even walking from Sapporo Beer Museum back to hotel. Otaru by JR train. Ishiya chocolate factory and Sapporo Central Wholesale Market are all short hops away on subways. What I like is the homey feel. It's a small boutique ryokan, not that many rooms. We were on the second floor across from both man and woman onsens, super convenient. Room is not big by any means, daytime they put the foot high table in the center and nighttime they move it to the side so they can lay out the two futon mattresses on the tatami floor. The only downside I can see is there's no drawers to speak of to store your clothes. There is one closet with hangars to hang clothes. We just kind of live out of the suitcase which is no big deal. Bathroom is small (which is similar to many Japanese hotels I have stayed at). But with onsen across, I so looked forward to using that instead every night when I get back. The onsen (hot bath) is so much bigger I just showered there then soaked in the hot tub and relaxed. Tried breakfast only once, very good and slightly over 1000 yen. There are many food choices around the area. Wifi was good. Quiet and peaceful environment. Service excellent and courteous. English very manageable from everyone. Rate was reasonable at around US$90/night for 8 days stay.

"In the heart of the city center"

10.0

I opted for a Japanese style room. The room has comfortable, as well as the tatami. The Ryokan is perfectly situated, 10 min on foot from Sapporo station and the city's main attractions. Shopping streets and food streets are not far. Everything is accessible on foot. If you prefer enjoying the subway or the tramway, stations are not far from the Ryokan. A must stay when in Sapporo.

"Loved!"

8.0

Friendly staff, plenty of English to get by. They greeted me with goodies (chocolates!). Good breakfast with Japanese and Western options. 5 minute walk to Sapporo Station, and close to many things to see/visit. The bathroom was big, the shower pressure was great, the wifi was strong. Laundry machine on premises, and they provide the soap.
