good facility,good room and great staff

Staying at Buckingham Place in Sri Lanka was a truly special experience. Imagine coming back from a long, hot walk by the sea, just wishing for a sip of cold water. When you step inside, a friendly barman is there to offer you exactly that—this is one of the numerous examples showing the dedication and care of the hotel team. Throughout your stay, the staff always go out of their way to make you feel valued and looked after. This high level of hospitality is thanks to Nick, the owner, who personally talks to every guest and puts his heart into the place. The staff are attentive and professional, the rooms are spaciuos, private and stylish, and the surroundings are green and beautiful. The food is delicious, with options from both Sri Lankan and Western cuisines. Little things like free drinking water, complimentary drinks & snacks in your minibar, and fresh flower decorations make your stay really special. Plus, there's a really big pool where you can enjoy a good swim. Here's a fun fact: I forgot my swimsuit at the hotel and the team kindly arranged for it to be brought to me to the airport, which is 3 hours drive (!) This is a true example of going extra mile for your customer. Most guests come back again to this hotel, and it's easy to see why—Nick and his team are doing a fantastic job of making everyone feel welcome and happy.

I'm struggling to think of a more perfect place to relax and unwind. The host, the staff, the food, the location, all perfection. An absolute gem of a place.

Absolutely nothing

We arrived at the property rather tired after a lengthy "marathon" through Sri Lanka touristy hot spots. We find this place to suit our relaxing needs perfectly - no crowds around, no scream noises, no rush. The soothing white noise by background ocean waves, wind, trees, birds! The surrounding beach, the actual place, the well planned, spotless buildings and structures, delicious (delicious, indeed) meals, the professional, attentive, yet not disturbing staff - what can be better than this! And, at the centre of it all - Nick, the owner - such a charismatic person, a pleasure to meet and talk, thank you! The Buckingham Place far exceeded our initial expectations, based on previously read great reviews.

This is a really beautiful hotel with views over both a lagoon and the sea, and with wonderful staff. We had a very restful stay, had some wonderful meals and enjoyed very much taking part in a magical New Year”s eve celebration. We will definitely be back!

We never planned to go to Tangalle. Reading the reviews of this property put Tangalle on the radar for us. I read somewhere that Nick (the owner) once said: “I became utterly mesmerized by the chaotic beauty of this island and its peoples’ great charm. From that moment my head, heart, body and soul took root here…” I believe, a part of us took root at Buckingham Place. We shall return. And you, yes you reading this, get your butt over there ASAP!
