Buckingham Place

All of it. Adored every second of our stay. Nick is a super host and his attention to detail makes this a unique place to stay. The eye-popping colours, the huge room, the well made cocktails,the pool, the spa, the art, the food, the dogs, the beach for walking , the staff who have tissues for you as soon as you sneeze and iced water when you come back from a beach walk. Simply memorable. Just go !

What a beautiful place… if you want to be pampered and looked after by a group of down to earth people then look no where else. Stunning property to relax and unwind. Nick, the owner has put in a lot of thought into this place with lots of fine touches - he resides at the property and always wanting to know we are happy and being looked after. Food is top notch - menu rotates daily and there are plenty of choices. Service - 5 star or better. Nothing is too much for them. The suites are spacious, clean has everything you need.. We wished we stayed for longer. We will be back again for a longer stay. Thank you team Buckingham.

For Sri Lanka it might be a little expensive but it is worth it. After 3 weeks travelling around and being active every day, this was the best place to Relax (capital R), Eat (capital E, great food) and end our holiday because of the great People (capital P, nothing was too much for the staff). I have difficult vegetarian Eaters and the staff created also for them healthy pasta and other dishes. My kids loved it. The staff even went to the shop to buy sanitary pads for my wife and daughter when we just asked where we could buy it. The rooms are very large, swimming pool great and more than enough space to sit. When we arrived they told / showed directly that we don’t need to give tips to the individual members of the staff but it can be put in an envelope. They will equally share it to all members, also the less visible ones. I like that idea!

We were in European summer and at that time you cannot swim in the sea. We knew before, so for us no issue at all, but just to be aware.

Buckingham Place was our final destination at the end of two weeks travelling around Sri Lanka. It was the perfect place to kick back and relax - we’re only sorry that we couldn’t stay for longer than 3 days! The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. We loved lazing by the pool and our boys really enjoyed having access to the games room. The beach is a short walk through the hotel grounds - whilst the sea is far too rough to even allow paddling, it’s a lovely stretch to stroll along. The food is excellent - the seared tuna and breakfast crepes were stand out favourites! The ‘thank you’ cake was a lovely and unexpected touch at our final dinner. We experienced wonderful hospitality throughout our trip and Buckingham Place was no exception. The staff really are a credit to the hotel - nothing was ever too much trouble.

Tea and coffee making facilities would have been much appreciated. The shower area is partly open to the elements so critters (e.g frogs, geckos) do occasionally get in!

All!! The staff and the management was sooo amazing. The pool, the food, the room, the view,... One of the best hotels we were on our Tour and the best Service we ever had before! Thank you for all!!!

The pool area was gorgeous, the staff were lovely and the food was great! Close proximity to the turtle conservation site and the staff went above and beyond.

The outside bathroom was unique but perhaps not for everyone.
