Anise Hotel & Restaurant

i got the room at a discount at hotel.com. the room was actually at an annex up two flights of somewhat steep stairs. not a problem for me since i welcome exercise. and considering the good breakfast added into the rate, friendly and attentive staff and clean and comfortable room, it was a bargain!!! i would stay here again

Great little hotel in Phnom Penh. Location was excellent: near lots of restaurants and bars, amd not very far from the main sights in town. Service was excellent and rooms were comfortable. The transport arranged by the hotel was always reliable and a good proce. The hotel restaurant was also very good.

The staff was always helpful. Breakfast was top notch. After I figured out navigation I really liked the location. Good shops and restaurants in the area. I liked the quality of the fellow travelers as well. Going back there for a couple of days before I leave Cambodia.

I'm a tough grader and Anise gets five stars. One of the best hotels of our Southeast Asia trip, for less than we have spent at some others. We did get a free upgrade to a room at the annex across the street, which came with a kitchenette and balcony and the extra space was great, especially, because as long-term travelers, it gave us a place to wash our water bottles and to wash and dry some clothes. The annex does require going up some stairs, but the concierge carried our bags up for us, so we only had to carry them down, and without bags, the stairs were no problem for us (and nice exercise). First hotel I have ever stayed in with free laundry service -- be sure to take advantage of your 5 pieces a day, especially the day you check in, because you won't be able to get any back the day you are leaving. The breakfast omelet had REAL cheese, real, melted, delicious, cheese. Also great coffee, not instant. Free welcome drink (virgin), which was really welcome after a long bus ride. Great location -- walkable to street 240, the palace, and good restaurants. Really clean, lovely shower and bathroom. Great concierge -- arranged a tuck tuck driver for S21 and the killing fields and a taxi to the airport.

Was lovely to stay here. Wifi in in rooms was good. Although the bathroom was compact it wasn't a problem. Meals are great in the restaurant and we have eaten here previously on many occasions when not staying here

My wife & I stayed 2 nights. Our rooms were upgraded when we arrived. The reception staff were very helpful arranging tours & transport bookings.The bar & waiter staff service was fantastic, the food was great & inexpensive. Staff were always happy to help & liked to converse to practice their english. Overall the hotel provided everything we needed in a lovely green oasis.

did a second 1 night stay and were upgraded to a larger room on a lower floor which was fantastic as there is no lift. The staff are excellent and helpful and restaurant and food great. Free laundry (and fast) was especially welcome for us having been travelling one nighters!

We stayed at the anise hotel for 3 night and it was good. The room are clean and big but it cam be noisy in the morning. What we really appreciated was the restaurant for breakfast and lunch. They have a really good menu with daily special meal and the service is really good! You can also wash 5 item per day and per person for free!

although we knew there was no lift, we were given a room on the top floor and was a real puff to get there being a couple of oldies!!! However, the staff are great and very helpful with everything - only used the hotel as a one night stopover so didnt need a pool although with the heat, one would have been nice.

We had room 201 on the third floor, the stairs didn't bother us as the staff helped us up/down with the bags. Stayed for three nights and would stay here again, used a tuktuk to get around for $2-$3, we also walked to the riverfront and markets which took us about 25minutes at a very leisurely stroll. Breakfast had lots of western options and two Asian ones which was good, didn't eat at the restaurant otherwise. In the immediate vicinity there were some very western restaurants and bars/pubs which didn't bother us that we had to go further afield to find street food. Staff were very helpful in every way and the free laundry was a godsend! Good value for money and would stay here agan
