"we are very happyabout our stay at anise hotel"

Hotel quite (not so easy in Phnom Penh), clean and with a good location. Good restaurant, we appreciate stew fish from Tonle Sal and the mango pine apple cramble with Lampok pepper...! Personnel adorable

"Great breakfast area, but the room was just OK."

6.0

The entrance and breakfast area are beautiful, but the room was disappointing. We had a standard room that was tiny. There was no separate shower area, so we always had a wet bathroom. It also was a very small space. The room was very clean and the free laundry service is excellent. We just didn't love the small, old TV, the small bathroom or the too firm bed. The breakfast was great with lots of choices and a lovely atmosphere.

"Anise Hotel"

6.0

Anise Hotel was decent enough but was expecting a bit more for the money.Have stayed at nicer hotels in Cambodia for much cheaper. The food was ok and the room was fine.Didn't like the shower over the toilet and the shower itself was very poor.

"Wannabe, but not there by a long shot."

4.0

First of all, the staff is very friendly, as most in SE Asia seem to be. But the policies of the hotel regarding small things such as which water is free, and which isn't, is pretty petty (one type of bottled water is free, and another one isn't, in the minibar, and this isn't made clear, unless you examine the price list and find that one type of water is also included in the priced ones), Also, coffee is part of the breakfast, but only one coffee per breakfast. The internet in the room worked maybe 30% of the time, and the main light was out when I got the room. The location is ok, but a bit away from the main nightlife areas, which are more to the south and towards the river front. One can walk a medium distance walk to the prison and the Russian market. but it might be long for some. The lobby and the outside eating area is the best part of the hotel, along with the friendliness of the staff. Also hotels.com has two things wrong about the standard room: there is no balcony, and there is no coffeemaker. So don't read the description of the standard room on hotels.com, read it on the hotel website.

"Nice hotel with good restaurant in good street."

10.0

This hotel has a great atmosphere, in a quiet street with interesting cafes and shops nearby. Our room was large, comfortable and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant and bar downstairs is a great place to relax. The breakfast included was very good and it's a good place for a drink and meal at the end of the day. Overall a very good place to stay in Phnom Penh.

"Good"

6.0

Hotel was clean and comfortable but not best location. Most of the action is riverside - 2USD tuk tuk each way. Hotel has one computer which rarely worked. On the plus side many restaurants in the area. Also the hotel will launder 5 items each day for free - give it to them in the morning and you get it back by night.

"Excellent location and staff"

8.0

We have stayed at the Anise many times when we go to Phnom Penh. The owners and staff are excellent and friendly. The highlight of the hotel is the outdoor veranda surrounded by greenery - a lovely place to eat, meet friends, and just hang out after a long day of work or sightseeing. The least expensive rooms are a bit tight for two people, but very clean. My biggest complaint is the lack of bedside lights for reading and few electrical plugs for computers, hair dryers, etc. But overall, we love this hotel and will stay there each time we're in Cambodia.
