Barcaldine Castle

Un'esperienza magica che dovrebbero provare tutti. Il castello è magico, arredato divinamente con un giusto rapporto tra antico e moderno. Patrick e Cecilia sono degli host deliziosi: ci hanno fatto fare un bel tour del castello e ci hanno aiutati ad arrangiarci per la cena. La sala grande col camino acceso è deliziosa! Assicuratevi di arrivare in tempo per godervela! C'è anche un piccolo bar con una piccola selezione di whiskey e gin della zona. Consigliamo la camera Barcaldine che ha un bellissimo letto a baldacchino in legno e ha un comodo passaggio segreto nelle mura per arrivare direttamente in sala colazione!

È davvero molto caro, ma è comprensibile: mantenere un castello del genere è costosissimo. Mi sarebbe piaciuto però che ci fosse uno sconto per stare più di una notte, avrei tanto voluto potermi permettere due notti. Alla colazione manca decisamente il cappuccino. Consiglio di rifoderare i cuscini del divano della sala grande.

This castle is very intimate, full of history and with an exceptional staff. From the moment we arrived, the hosts looked after us and took time to take us on a visit of the castle, the rooms are very comfy and the breakfast hall is stunning - it is straight out of a fairy tale book.

Everything. The Patrick and Caroline were absolutely amazing hosts. A one-night stay that was a once in a lifetime experience. Just getting to see the architecture inside and out was terrific. Unfortunately, the ghost of Donald Campbell did not make his presence known in the Caithness room.

I was most excited to stay at this property and it did not disappoint! From the moment we arrived our hosts Patrick and Cecilia greeted us like family and made us feel so welcome and comfortable during our stay. The castle was like stepping back in time yet had all the modern comforts we're used to. It was the most comfortable bed of all the locations we stayed during our trip. We loved learning about the castle's history during our arrival tour. The views of the loch and mountains near the castle are absolutely breathtaking. In the evening we relaxed by the fireplace with a drink enjoying the atmosphere of the castle great room and talking to other guests. Breakfast service was wonderful with a great selection of foods provided. My omelette was cooked to order by Cecilia and was fluffy and delicious. What a special experience and we would love to return on our next trip.
