Drovers Cottage

Excellent directions given for location of cottage which is down a long lane. I found it in advance of the stay being in the area beforehand in the daylight as difficult in the dark. Gate part way down has to be opened and closed part way down - - just need to be aware. Good outdoor lighting around property and helpful host Jo when I found the key case difficult to open on arrival . Milk, tea coffee provided and cream tea in kitchen to welcome us. Being Cornish the jam went on first even though we were in Devon ! Warm and well equipped property - would stay again Thank you .

Clean, Comfortable and homely.

Easy directions given to get to location. Quiet and beautiful surroundings. Fabulous, well-equipped cottage. Hosts very friendly, helpful and kind. Thoughtful gesture of leaving scones with jam and cream and some milk on our arrival. Nothing too much trouble. Accessible parking area. A very spacious bathroom/shower room. In fact, very spacious accommodation altogether. Excellent portfolio of useful information available. Ideal location for a peaceful break/holiday. Would stay here again.

Just found the couch/sofa too soft and low down - but that's a personal choice!

We loved the location. The cottage was cosy, clean, spacious, comfortable and very well equipped. There were plenty of movies to watch and games to play. When we arrived, there were scones with jam and cream waiting for us. There's nothing better than a cup of tea after a long journey. What a lovely surprise! I have to mention the sofa, the softest I ever sat on. It's like sitting on a cloud! And the outside patio was just lovely. I just wish we had more time there. We'll definitely be back in the future. Very clean and comfortable home. The host Jo was very fast at replying to our messages and provided everything we needed for our baby - as well as some lovely complimentary scones!

Location was perfect, peaceful and beautiful. It was a bonus to have a garage/shop and not far to a lovely eating pub. Tavistock was in easy reach and a lovely town to explore. The indoor market and small shops around it were so good with so many different things to buy, including a lovely cheese shop.

Lovely cottage with everything we needed. Loved the little extra touches like a small amount of milk, cleaning products, and the home baked scones and clotted cream!

Beautiful location and a very comfortable cottage

We had an absolutely lovely stay at Drovers Cottage. From the moment we arrived, we felt incredibly welcomed—the hosts have clearly put so much thought and care into creating a warm, inviting space. The peaceful and picturesque setting made it the perfect place to relax and unwind. The cottage itself is beautifully presented, spotlessly clean, and exceptionally well-equipped with everything you could possibly need—and more! It’s ideal for families, with plenty of space and thoughtful touches that make it great for children. The beds were super comfortable, ensuring we all got a great night’s sleep. A real highlight was being greeted with delicious homemade scones on arrival—such a thoughtful and much-appreciated gesture. Every detail, from the cozy furnishings to the well-stocked kitchen, made our stay effortless and enjoyable. The location is also fantastic for exploring Devon. It feels wonderfully tucked away, yet it’s close to everything—making day trips and sightseeing easy and convenient. We wouldn’t hesitate to return and will definitely be recommending Drovers Cottage to friends and family. A truly fantastic stay in a wonderful place!
