The location and the fact that it ha 3 rooms and 2 bathrooms.

The check-in process was disorganized, with contradictory instructions about whether someone would meet us or if we should use an access code. Upon arrival, the cleaning lady was still at the beginning of her work and needed hours to finish. When we returned at 5 PM, she was still wrapping up. The heating issue was never resolved, leaving the house uncomfortably cold throughout our stay, especially the glass-walled entrance room, which was freezing. This caused our parents to fall ill, significantly affecting our experience. Communication with the host was slow and unhelpful. A late checkout was initially offered, but my polite request was denied at the very last moment, with abrupt messages pushing us to vacate. Lastly, cleanliness was lacking, with dirty water puddles left behind after cleaning. Overall, the experience fell far below expectations, especially given the price point. "Concerning Business Practices"

While the apartment itself may have been satisfactory, the host’s business practices have left me feeling uneasy and distrustful. For peace of mind during your stay, I would not recommend booking with this host.

While some of the issues I encountered may seem minor to others, I believe they’re worth noting, as they raise concerns about the host’s practices. Here are the main points: 1. City Tax: Lisbon charges a city tax per person per night for visitors. Some guests arrived a day after the check-in date. This is not uncommon when you travel with friends or family who are coming from different cities and have different schedules. I notified the host about this right away—but received no response. Just before check-in, I was asked to pay the tax for the full number of guests, despite my prior communication. After a lengthy exchange, I even provided the host with the relevant Lisbon regulations, but they insisted on charging the tax for people who weren’t even in the city. Eventually, I paid the city tax through the official website, which charged me LESS than the host requested. This raised a red flag—why would the host charge more than the actual required amount? Lisbon’s authorities should look into these practices. 2. Late Check-In Charge: While the late check-in fee was clearly outlined, I was not provided with a receipt or invoice for the payment. It was paid directly to the host’s wallet, which is concerning. Typically, payments made without a clear transaction record can raise questions, especially from tax authorities. Another red flag. 3. Payment Confusion: Upon check-in, the person handling our arrival claimed I hadn’t paid the city tax or a €500 deposit. He asked for the deposit to be paid in cash, as he didn’t bring a card reader. Luckily, I had proof of my online payment via card. After some back and forth, he acknowledged that I had indeed paid the tax. Another red flag. 4. Deposit Refund: It's now November 29th, and I stayed at the property on November 12th. The host is still withholding my deposit, which should have been refunded by now. Despite reaching out, I’ve received no response. Another red flag.

Great location-loads of cafes and restaurants near by. Walking distance to many attractions too. Comfy beds, very clean. Local host Antonio was very contactable and friendly.

Amazing location, walkable to hundreds of restaurants, grocery, wine shops and close to trams and other public transit. Large rooms and comfortable beds. Large kitchen and dining area, perfect for three couples.

Some street noise on weekends from bars/restaurants on street below, but probably quieter than most apartments in this neighborhood.
