Nice to be out of an airport motel

Stayed a few days before a cruise, overall room was nice and bed was comfy, didn't use the pool or facilities and it looked like it could use a little maintenance but could just be because it's not the right season for it? Arrived at 8pm and reception was unmanned, a phone number was on a sign but we had no phone service, thankfully another guest helped us find someone to check us in but they could use some kind of buzzer or way to alert staff that people have arrived rather than scrambling around in the dark trying to add phone service credit. Otherwise a very pleasant stay, conveniently located for a nearby train station with easy access into town and near to some good local food and beer areas, would stay again.

overall was okay but there was some ants around our fridge and the pool didn’t look clean to swim in so didn’t really get out moneys worth as we couldn’t use all facilities

Friendly staff

We stayed here for a week while visiting from Australia. It was a perfect home base for us. A beautiful, character filled building, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It was such a pleasant stay, and it is one of the reasons our holiday memories of New Zealand are so warm. 😊

Beautiful property, very elegant old school charm but in need of a major do up. Great location, fabulous veiws and large concrete salt water pool.
