The Harraseeket Inn & Event House Freeport Downtown

We have stayed here several times, and it is our top choice when the room rates are within budget for our needs. The rooms are comfortable, the breakfast is always good, the staff are always welcoming, and it feels like a home away from home. In addition, it is walkable to the center of Freeport and close to both Portland and Brunswick. LOVE the afternoon tea.

We liked the suite room that we had during our second stay during our trip home. The bathroom was nice and large with ample counterspace. The beds were comfortable and the room large enough for a family of three adults. We also greatly appreciated the historic aspect of the inn.

The first room we had on our first night of vacation, was kind of small for a family of three adults. The bathroom did not have any countertop to place toiletries on. My son also found 2 hairs on his bedspread which weren't from us.

We stayed here two nights over Memorial Day weekend, at the beginning of our two-week trip along the Maine coast. We are from the West Coast, and arrived in Freeport late in the evening after a long travel day that included delayed flights. We had requested a quiet upstairs room, and that is exactly what we received. The room was very comfortable, and we slept well. The complimentary breakfast was great (excellent homemade granola!). The public areas of the hotel were really nice, the grounds were lovely (even in the rain!), and the staff members were friendly. Also, there is plenty of onsite parking and you can walk to the shops and restaurants in Freeport. Finally, I thought the rate, with breakfast included, was an excellent value. I wish we’d had more than two nights at the inn, and if we ever return to Maine, I would definitely stay here again
