The location

Room 301 had a half full bottle of something in the bathroom, hair and grime through the fridge and the strongest smell of cigarette smoke. Headache level, you could smell it before opening the door. We couldn’t stay in the room and had to top and tail in the other unit we booked as they refused to give a refund when we asked and had no other options for us. They said they would clean it the following day but nothing was touched and they just cracked a few windows in the bathroom and sprayed it. Nothing was wiped over, sheets changed or rubbish removed. Beds are annoyingly squeaky. Shower was good and good they had a washing machine but that was also not cleaned (filter was caked with old lint). Best description for this style of accommodation would be a half way house or charge by the hour kind of situation.

Cramped living conditions of traveling with luggage

Location is great, the room has everything you need to be comfy for a few days, although do note there is no elevator. I might have missed this detail when booking; was no issue for me since I had minimal luggage.

Some obvious wear and tear that I was not expecting: the sofa had a very visible tear which I saw the moment I walked into the room, and the dishwashing sponge definitely saw better days.

Bed was broken, one of us had to sleep on the floor. No staff available to help the situation, only a “sorry for the inconvenience” message after we already checked out. The space could have been used more efficiently, but the large beds take up most of the space, leaving very little room to move around. For example, there’s barely any space to eat (why having a kitchen then?!) Some furniture looks very old and have visible damage. I understand it’s a budget hotel, but at least have proper furniture. How can you charge people for a place to sleep and not even make sure they can sleep on a bed?! Get a place with actual customer service so you can ask for help if needed and truly get the value you pay for.
