"Horrible lack of care!!!"

2.0

We had a few hiccups on our way to check in to this hotel. So I called to say we will check in later, which the person who answered the phone approved OK. At around 7 o'clock we finally made it into Dallas, so I called the hotel again. They told me we had no more reservation it was canceled. To which I told him no I talked to somebody that I would get a little more time because we're gonna be in later. We made it to the hotel to talk to the front desk person, which he showed us The paper where we were canceled. It was 9 o'clock at night. Horrible this is never happened at this hotel before. I don't know if it was a lack of communication because they don't speak English, are if they just do not care and they wanted to book their own people over actual Americans. I'm fine with finding another hotel anyway but not at 9 o'clock at night. And if I have a three-year-old with me. The hotel was horrible The other two times we stay there, nasty rooms, no air-conditioning in the halls our lobby, no care whatsoever or customer service.do yourselves a favor find another hotel!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

"Unbelievable "

2.0

At first it was fine hotel for the price close to work. Everytime i went to the front desk with a question one would always be plugged into his phone and the other was always watching netflix. Being i worked in the hotel buisness for 2 years by far the worst customer service. But where i finally drew the line is when i came back from getting my husband from work i found one of the front desk employees standing in my doorway with the door wide open. Now that is also against the law, i can promise you he didnt have probable cause to do so. There are no drugs coming from my room and no way he felt someone was in danger in the room because no one was there. Absolutely unacceptable. Period.

"DISCRIMINATION! Something terribly wrong here."

4.0

I stayed at this place 2 nights. The first night seemed somewhat ok till later in the night. The toilet kept running. Early 5 am I noticed the bathtub would not hold water. I really needed to soaked as I had been moving the previous day and was sore and in pain. I waited until 6 am to report the problems. I was told Sunny (the manager would be in at 7 am) would take care of the problems. The problems were NEVER taken care of so I did not get to soak in the tub. The maintenance man came at 12 noon to fix the toilet. Prior to that I tried to use the microwave for breakfast and there was a problem as well. I had requested the price for the room listed on their big sign out front, it was I believe, about $37 a night and there was a decent price for a weekly rental as well that I requested. None of the advertised specials were available (to me) and I was charged $50 for the first room. While at the front desk, several men came in and Sunny rattled off several rooms available. He was caught lying. Sunny ignored my questioning as to how there were several rooms available to these men and not me. One of the men asked if I had a room with 2 beds, I said yes and he had one that was a single bed. We discussed swapping rooms, then everyone would be happy. NOT Sunny. I was told again there were no available rooms, there would be no swap, so I asked to go back up and see if the toilet was repaired before I rented the room for another night. I decided to leave and come back later. Sunny wanted to charge me a fee for late check out. I told him I should have been compensated for all the problems I had. He then told me to call the manager. Apparently now he was not the manager. I called for 4 hours from another location to speak to the manager. No answer. I go back to Plano Inn & Suites and there is Sunny. I told him I was unable to get hold of the manager. He said that was because he was out of the COUNTRY! I asked for the same room and he told me it would now be $60 per night. There is a SCAM going on at this place for sure. I said what do you have less expensive. He took me to a slime pit room on the first floor with an entrance in the DARK parking lot. It was scary. First noticeable observance was dog urination all over the front door and dog poop two steps away. It smelled bad. There were light bulbs missing and no plug for the bathtub. Same problem as the previous room. Sunny got pretty nasty had said I did not NEED the light above the desk and if I did not like it to leave. I really was in no position to try and find another room as it was getting late, so I took the room. Sunny called me shortly and said I better not report anything else. I was in shock and could not believe his behavior. Sunny does not seem to like or have respect for women as I was treated much different than all the men who spoke to him at the front desk. I was treated as a second class citizen. Discriminated against for being a woman. I was denied available rooms that were given to men on three separate occasions. He also lied about being the manager, I can only assume, as he started telling me the manager was out of the country. I do not know if this behavior is a "CULTURAL" thing or what, but I have been noticing this abusive treatment towards women at several hotels. I also question the room charges. THERE ARE NO SET PRICES, NO TAXES AND ONLY A DINKY LITTLE RECEIPT LIKE YOU WOULD GET AT A MINI MART. First hotel I have EVER been to with no proper receipts. This place needs to be investigated. I should be compensated for being overcharged, having a tub that did not hold water, a toilet that would not flush, a microwave that did not work properly, being told I did not NEED a light bulb above the desk, and a lazy maintenance staff that could not wipe down the front door of dog urination!

"I was scared."

4.0

Walked in and was overwhelmed by the smell of cigarettes and probably drugs of some sort. The smell was intense and disgusting. The non smoking room wasnt that strong of the smell. Ok beds, terrible pillows, worst shower head in any hotel. Power outlets werent working well. Try somewhere else.

"Not the best"

4.0

If you are just traveling through town, you can stay here. However, a stay with the kiddos isnt recommended. First of all, many drug addicts and drunks stay here for extended periods of time. (usually by the month) It got loud at night..and the ice machine never worked. Then when I ate the muffins they had, it had a maggot wiggle at me. (Granted that was Otis Spunkmeyer Muffins..and not homemade by Red Roof Inn) A single business traveler...maybe...a family...no way.

"Low-End with a touch of Cheap."

4.0

I travel to Dallas several times a month and I have stayed in several different hotels around Dallas and Plano. I won't stay at this Red Roof again, but nor would I call it a bad hotel, just not to my taste. PROs The most important - The hotel is new and clean, nice architecture - you can look down on the front desk from the 2nd and 3rd floors. Hotel was quiet when I stayed there. Bed was comfortable. The attending staff are friendly. Adequate TV programming. Perhaps fewer channels than some places. Good coffee as you wait for the elevator Next door to Krispy Kreme donut shop. Good for breakfast. CONs Internet in the rooms is not free, though wireless is available - which is nice. This was an inconvenience to me. No hairdryer!? Maid service seems to end at about 11am. I didn't notice a breakfast or if there was one it was minimal. We had a problem with the vending machine on the ground floor not accepting dollars (like the previous reviewer.)
