the view from my room was nice and the architecture of the area was interesting

there was stuff in the kitchen but lacked basic things like teabags and cutlery

The location was very comfy

We paid for the ryokan but when we arrived, the owner moved us to a shared residence, and made us pay 20000 yen more than what we already paid. When we arrived, we had just one pillow on the bed and when we asked for another, it was never supplied. The room didn't had any hair dryer also. We stayed since we didn't find any other place to go, but we lost our chance to stay at a ryokan and live that experience.

Misleading room information: hot tub apparently meant “hot water”; there was no private entrance; no bath; and no patio attached to the room. The wifi was inconsistent and regularly did not work. One night the owner turned up and started yelling at another customer at 10:30pm for staying in the wrong room. Expect a ten minute uphill walk from the station every time you return home. There is no security to the building, anyone can walk in whenever they please. There is no staff present so we had to help another guest find their room.

It was a comfy Room with enouth space for everything. The bath was clean 10 min walk to the nearest station.

The walls are litrally made of paper wenn a person in another room talks he could aswell be talking in your room, but thats not much of a problem since everyone was polite exept someone starts snoring witch you kan allso hear like hes next to you

Excellent rooms, owner was very helpful in helping us find our way around Kyoto and attractions. Rooms were large compared to other ryokan we've stayed at. Great for the price!

Location is a few minutes uphill from the nearest subway, so it would be best to get your luggage shipped if it is heavy or you have difficulties carrying it.

Dear 金閣 I wanted to express my deepest gratitude for the wonderful experience I had during my stay at your ryokan.

I after using this location 5 years prior and having an exceptional stay, I knew I would be using it again. The owner is lovely and was extremely friendly during the whole trip, this was my partners first time in Japan and I wanted to give her an authentic experience in a ryokan that usually is hard to get in modern hotels. The location and links to transport in the city really helped immerse us in the country. I would recommend this location to anyone visiting Kyoto

I liked the tatami mat room, the big new kitchen, the garden and the walking path right by it

The house was very cold as only the bedroom has heat, the microwave was very dirty, the host was not welcoming or helpful
