The Baltic Hotel

Location is in an unexpectedly quite part of town. But it is well situated - all the main sites were within 25 min walking distance at most. We had a problem with our room - the fridge was not working, but the staff quickly resolved the matter and we ended up in a nicer room with little fuss. The staff could not have been nicer throughout our stay.

There isn’t a lot of storage for clothes, which isn’t much of a problem as we are happy to live out of the suitcase. I would have liked a suitcase stand - we improvised with the chair.

My friend and I spent 3 nights at the hotel in May 2026. The hotel is cozy and stylish, with a youthful vibe. It is quietly located about a 10-minute walk from the Liverpool One shopping centre and 12 minutes from Albert Dock. It is a small hotel with a pleasant atmosphere, and the staff were mostly friendly. The reason I still choose to give the hotel only one star is twofold. The rooms are not cleaned every day. Every day we had to ask the receptionist for fresh towels and toilet paper. They also ran out of toilet paper and had to go to the nearest shop to buy more. We spoke with several other guests at the hotel, and this applied to everyone we spoke to. We were told that this is simply how it is, so it was not an oversight. They were trying this out (presumably to save money). The second reason they get one star is that the air conditioning system was not working. These were the hottest days of the year, and the heat in the hotel room at night was unbearable. Yes, they had placed a fan in the room, but it was so noisy that it was difficult to fall asleep, and in any case it does little more than circulate warm air. The window could be opened, but only slightly, so that did not help either. At 10 p.m. it was still almost 22 degrees outside. We had two separate beds. They were very narrow, and it was actually possible to fall out of them during the night. I would gladly come back, but only if the above issues are sorted out. The most important with your hotel stay is after all that you can have a good night sleep.

The staff were lovely, they were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was really tasty and the service was great. The room was a great size and the bathroom was very modern.

The room was unbearably hot throughout our stay. The windows did not open, two of the blinds were stuck shut, and one blind was stuck open, meaning the sun flooded the room from around 5am and there was nothing we could do to block the heat or light. Although there was a fan in the room, it made very little difference and the room remained extremely hot, stuffy, and uncomfortable. We asked whether the air conditioning was working and were told that new units were currently being installed but were not working. We also requested an additional fan, but staff explained that previous guests had broken them and there was only one fan allocated per room with no spares available. We paid over £430 for one night in the group room for three people, and all of us were extremely uncomfortable due to the heat and lack of ventilation. The room also felt very dusty, which added to the discomfort. Overall, this did not reflect the standard we expected for the price paid. .

Staff were friendly.

The room wasn’t clean. There were clumps of hair on the floor. Pieces of confetti from whoever partied there the night before. Purple sticky stuff on the bathroom floor and the tub had brown specs all over it. No clue what it was. I was so grossed out I booked at another hotel. Didn’t even spend the night.
