My Trip Type: Couple Leisure (celebrating my birthday)
Resort is about 45min for PUJ airport (but if you book excellence club, round trip transport is included)
Room: 20/10
Excellence Club - Honey Moon 2-Story Rooftop Suite
Cleanliness - 9/10 (no complaints really)
Spacious - 10/10
Esthetic - 8/10 Pretty Modern
Views - 9/10
Ummm…The rooftop alone deserves an award! I haven’t experienced anything like this accommodation elsewhere. We felt like celebrities. Not only do you have a private plunge pool rooftop with furnishings to layout and watch the view but they spoil you with an entry level balcony as well with a hot tub! All essentials included: robe, slippers, toothbrush, toothpaste…soap, shampoo, conditioner and the whole 9 yards. Maybe pack a shower cap if you need one. But back to the quality ….the luxury in this suite is simply unmatched! 20 out of 10.
Con (if I had to say something) -traveling from the US? I wasn’t able to access Netflix, however I will say that encouraged us to get out of the room and explore the property.
Service: 10/10
Personnel - 10/10
Everyone was really nice. We didn’t encounter not 1 bad attitude. Everyone spoke English and seemed genuinely friendly! With that being said, my fiancé lost his phone and 1 day later, we got it back from the DJ that greeted my fiance by name, lol! Clearly they had a timeeee at the nightclub the night before!
I definitely have a few shoutouts that made my trip super memorable!
Excellence club has a private check-in and we were checked in by PAULA that arranged a special birthday dinner for me and surprised me with a cake!!
RONNIE is “the mannnn”…he’s the bartender at the Excellence Club Bar…..he is the vibe!!!! He’s so personable and engaged with everyone! My bday dinner was at Dommo and he sent me special birthday drinks (because he remembered that it was going to be my birthday and that I love tequila). Such good vibes!
ANAIS (I really hope I spelled this right)…my fiancé was taking really sad photos of me on my birthday after I worked so hard to look pretty lol….Anais politely interjected and understood the assignment!!! She was such a sweetheart and because of her, I have birthday photos that I’ll always cherish! She was patient and gave me creative directions….I felt like it was a professional photoshoot, lol. Absolutely Loveee her!
A few more honorable mentions to shout out….Gabriel at check-in was a sweetheart, Ishmael, our butler made us feel safe and secure. Everyone really was delightful and pleasant.
Food: (nervous chuckle) 7/10
Okayyy, so we all know all-inclusive resorts tend not to have the greatest food…so before coming I didn’t really have high expectations.
Buffet: 6/10
Room Service: 6/10
Food Trucks: 6/10
Restaurants: 8.5/10
Personally, I didn’t enjoy the buffet, however, I loved allllllllllllll the restaurants!!! There wasn’t one restaurant that we went to that we didn’t enjoy! My top recommendations are Gusto (Italian), Lizo (Mexican), Surf & Turf, & Dukes Lobster (I’m a seafood girly). So with that being said, some of the restaurants also offer breakfast and I’ll totally opt in for restaurant breakfast and have a good ol’ time upon our next visit. There’s a cute little dessert/coffee shop in the main lobby as well.
Yikes….I almost forgot to mention dress code….mornings are chill…swim suit and coverup…grab food by the trucks and head to the pool or beach etc but in the evening, most restaurants have a dress code…you’ll have to wear actual clothes….women dresses etc and men ….shirts, pants and closed toe shoes (don’t quote me on this), but I didn’t mind because every night felt like date night which made every night special! Explore the resort in the day, head back to room and get dolled up for a new date every night!
Property: 9/10
Grounds- 9/10
Safety - 10/10 (this is crucial for me)
Pools - 8/10
Beach - 7/10 (I went during seaweed season, I know I know)
Resort is drop dead gorgeous! The smell when you walk in gives clean and tranquility! They are constantly cleaning and it shows. They greet you with champagne and from that moment on, you’re in pre-heaven. The resort is a good size….most certainly will walk off the calories you’re gonna rack up on the food and drinks. We used the map for the 1st day and then got the hang of things pretty quickly.
The Excellence Club is the Adult only side of the resort. It has 1 massive pool with a premium swim-up bar where you can get fresh coconuts (and Don Julio lol)!!! They have a nightclub called Glow and its own Excellence Club Bar (where my bestie Ronnie is) and an exclusive excellence member only restaurant Dommo. If you book Excellence Club, you also get access to the Finest side of the resort which is family friendly. Between the two sides, there are plenty of restaurants (although not all restaurants are open daily). My recommendation is to download the “Excellence Collection App” so you can plan out ahead of time. You don’t have to make reservations for most of the restaurants so it’s easy.
Gym: 9/10 (per my fiancé) equipped with everything you need
Bars: 8/10 - Lobby bar is a guest favorite but I stayed with Ronnie at Excellence
Spa: 10/10 - Good Lord (we only did the hydrotherapy treatment but the spa is stunning and incredibly sensual)
On to Activities / Entertainment: 8/10
This resort offers a ton of things to do but it’s kinda like “if you know, you know” type thing. I repeat, definitely download the app! You can see the scheduled activities for the day. We did archery which was fun but there was barely any other people there. I just wish they promoted the activities a bit more to get more guests involved. However, once we found the Game Center, the lack of crowd did not deter us lol. I was beaten in pickle ball, basketball, Billiards, and archery lol. We still had fun and there’s loads to do! At the pool, we played bingo and black jack (on the adults side) and that was the most engagement I seen with the guests….it was probably about 30 of us and we were all encouraged to play and we all had a time! Every night they have different entertainment shows…..circus, acrobatics, live bands etc. They even offer karaoke on a few nights! A few guest I met enjoyed the silent party…so with that being said, there’s a little summin for everyone.
To wrap this review up…. 5 Stars!
This isn’t a “turn-up” hotel…I’d recommend for couples, families, and solo travelers (I actually met plenty on this trip). This resort is luxury and peace at its Finest (pun intended). So if you’re looking to relax and unwind while feeling like royalty, then this resort is for you!
Overall, this resort was beautiful and literally has everything you need and possibly more. Left something? They probably have it complimentary or if not there’s a gift shop on site. Bringing kids? Imagine daycare is there to assist…..the kids were having a time there!! I felt incredibly safe the entire time. There’s plenty food, plenty drinks, and pleasant good vibes everywhere. The views were immaculate and we were severely depressed upon check-out which meant that the Finest Resort had done its job!
We felt incredibly blessed by this experience and we hope you do to if you decide to book!
Hope this helps someone! :)
