Amazing spacious place, very comfty

We were very surprised to find out that the futons sheets were not clean. It seems that we have used the same sheets as previous guests. We found tons of hair on the pillows. That is unacceptable! Moreover there were not enough sleepers for all of us! For the price we have paid it was not up to our expectations.

Good kitchen and laundry facilities, easy access to Nijo Station and major bus routes

Beds were very uncomfortable - thought I’d be ok but ended up feeling very sore. Bathroom smelt terrible, had to buy room spray to try and disguise the smell. Absolutely no wifi in our room. We had to ask for a bathroom clean after a few nights (8 night stay) and they didn’t seem happy about it. Walls are so thin, you can literally hear your neighbours snoring.

Laundry & kitchen facilities. Clean & tidy. Close to a station, groceries & local shops.

Bed a little bit uncomfortable. Small but cosy & clean.

The building is beautifully kept and the restaurant served really good food with traditional and western options.

I would ask the staff how often the pool is emptied and cleaned for next time.

Thought I was staying at a real ryokan of the whole facility like in old-time Kyoto like Geisha Picture included here was not the one at time of booking. But could be my misinterpretation. Visitors did not understand door locking mechanism so entry door was left unintentionally unlocked. This forced me to get up, leave my unit to go make sure the front door got locked. I left post-it notes trying to explain to other guests to make door lock when going in and out but they often did not understand. If requesting new towels, Instructions were to leave them in basket outside unit. This was missed once or twice. Could be a bit more signage outside to identify location. Had to walk by it several times before concluding we were there. Thank you GPS or Google maps.

Horrible internet connection The futon for sleeping was too hard - I read it in reviews, but I though we will be fine - we were not. :-)
