Private Organic House

We enjoyed our stay here, the host and his family are just lovely to spend time with, they really make you feel cared for and we loved our conversations. The cabin was comfortable and the evenings were cool and mostly quiet. Breakfasts were nice, with fruit and local delights such as egg hoppers and coconut pancakes. The highlight was our amazing safari. We spent 5 hours in the park and saw plenty of wildlife, elephants, birds, mongoose, deer, crocodile and jungle cat. We highly recommend a stay and safari here.

We liked everything, the only mix up was our booking said kitchen and there is no access to the kitchen. Breakfast is included and dinner is offered as an additional cost. There is plenty of eateries close by tho. Also a water refill station would be nice in an organic stay.

We stayed one night at the private house as part of our trip to srilanka. We just enjoyed every bit of it and it was definitely different! The size of the room was decent and the facilities were just for the value of what we paid! I just to highlight how friendly and welcoming Upul and his family were! From the welcoming drink and cake to the morning breakfast prepared by them, it was one of the best meals we had in srilanka!

Maybe an extra towel and a net on the window would have been a good addition to the room

This place is incredible. The mud huts, made by the owner Upul himself, are quite large and well furnished. The bathroom was nice, with a cold shower and good water pressure. The bed comes with a mosquito net, though I'm not sure if it was necessary with the A/C. The location is great, just off the main road. You are a short walk to the restaurants and shops, but far enough removed that it is quiet, and feels like the jungle. The provided breakfast is very large and delicious. We also had dinner there one night, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The various curries were all so yummy. We did a full day safari with Upul. His love of animals is obvious, and he is so full of information. The roads near the entrance of the park are very crowded with other safari jeeps, but Upul very quickly took us away from the crowds. We didn't see any other jeeps for hours, it was amazing. He pointed out so many animals that we would have missed otherwise. The safari also includes breakfast and a snack, which were very filling and delicious. This is the place to come if you want to visit Udawalawe and do a safari!

Hi, the place is really beautiful, and the host is the kindest man alive! In the organic house there are some the most beatifull dogs, a mom with 3 puppies, we spent our evening with them just sitting and chilling! The host ask us not to feed them, because some guest don’t like animals around, but to all travels coming please please just give some love to them, they really diserve this, we were a second to taking them home, but it is impossible for us! So to everyone reading this, when you visit private organic house, give some love to them!! We heard that daughter of the host take care of them, it’s wonderful to see this caring family. That’s was wonderful, thank you very much 🧡

Very nice and caring staff . They offer a welcome drink and cake and also on our second day. They do they to outmost to make you feel good during your stay and even offered a little present for our honeymoon. We also did the full day safari with them which was very nice! You can definitely feel it’s a family business

Best Place in Sri Lanka. Beautiful Location in the Nature, only 3 rooms, so it gives you a really personal experience. Super friendly Staff, eben Organized a private driver for us. Bed is very comfy and Room has everything you need including Tee and a very modern bathroom. Even had a common Dinner with the other guests which felt Like being a Family. The Safari was so good, we highly recommend staying here.

Great stay, affordable beers in fridge and great food! Full day safari with the host was both good value and thoroughly enjoyable! He did his best to help us see everything and whilst most other tours were going home early, we carried on all day and saw some really special wildlife! Message to book your safari direct!
