Private Organic House

Small property of 3 small house owned by a local family and their traditional house accommodation is fantastic. In the middle of the nature, far away from the road noise, the houses are built with natural material and they are spectacular! Our stay was lovely, the bed comfortable and big for sharing two friends, had a small fridge, kettle and teas. The best things the bathroom :) the floor with natural stone pebbles was wow! They organised a wonderful safari for us in Udawalawe park which is very close by.

Uppal and his family run a lovely small, secluded accommodation that feels very much like a home stay. The rooms were clean and quiet, surrounded by the sounds of nature. An amazing dinner and breakfast were prepared by his lovely wife and Uppal took us on a 5 hour safari to Udawalawe National Park where we saw many elephants, crocodiles, buffalo, deer, mongoose and countless birds and eagles - a great experience. Delighted to hear Uppal’s place has made it into the Lonely Planet….much deserved We would highly recommend a stay here

Best safari tour guide! Good English, very easy going and friendly. Very enthusiastic about all the animals and nature :) Accommodation was very cool, the photos live up to the expectation. Nicely located to near by town so it’s great for a little exploration. Flawless!

Lovely property with nice comfortable cabanas. Each had its own verandah. Good a/c. Food was good.

The cabanas had small windows, some without glass so the shutters had to be closed to keep out insects. So the inside the room was very dark. The lighting in the rooms needs to be greatly improved. I couldn't even read a book easily in the room.

The perfect place to stay before or after a safari when visiting udawalawe. Upul and his family are great hosts, we did the safari with Upul too and had an unforgettable time! Highly recommend.

Our host Upal went out of his way to make sure we had a great experience and Safari. A real highlight of our trip. The house was brilliant, comfortable and cool in the humidity! I really recommend the dinner too which was delicious and, of course, generous. The safari was great value for money and as others have said, goes away from the crowds. I won't forget seeing our first elephant with no one else around and totally peaceful, listening to the jungle sounds. Upal is very knowledgeable and spotted lots of animals and birds, going out of his way to make sure we saw as much as possible. and the breakfast after a couple of hours was delicious.

Little villa was excellent, so clean, with ac and a fridge and great bathroom, along with patio. Safari in the morning is a fantastic experience, all organisation so smooth with Upul. And great value for money. Would recommend!

We stayed here one night for the safari that is organized by the host and really loved the safari experience — the host is really knowledgeable about the animals and sees the most hidden animals we would otherwise it have seen! Also very friendly.

The room was a bit stuffy because we were afraid to air it out because of mosquitoes.

A great place to stay, with super host, and organised a wonderful day-long safari for us too. Highly recommend to everyone.
