Dinner was excellent. Small fridge in room, which was nice and necessary (more later). Beds were comfy and nice having a desk to "work" at.

A big reason we booked was the exceptional breakfast listed in description as well other reviews. Apparently on Tuesday since kitchen is closed, the exceptional breakfast was a banana, yogurt, croissant, granola bar and some OJ delivered the night before and put it in the fridge. Plenty of food, but not what one would call exceptional. Very few plugs of any kind in room. Few USB ports by the bed, but they only worked with the lights on, so not very useful. Floors squeaked a lot and lights from pub across the street had lights on until late and curtains didn't cut out very much light. Room pretty small; there's no room to open up luggage and be out of the way.

Nice family run hotel, good breakfast with standard or large portion. Had evening meals a couple of times and enjoyed them. Staff helpful with any enquiries. Although on main road, not bothered by traffic noise

A few nights banging doors and thumping from rooms above, which appear to be family quarters Returned home after further stay in Scarborough to be welcomed by a £100 parking ticket. Filled in car details on tablet at bar several times during stay as told to do by staff, but still received ticket. Appealed and have just received cancellation. Quite easy for hotel to amend logging in details to how long you are staying and not have to repeatedly re-enter info. Other than this an enjoyable break

Lovely friendly staff, comfortable bed with good linen, extra blankets in the room if needed, tea, coffee, milk, biscuits and water provided, small fridge in room which was very useful. Nice big shower with lovely hot hot water. Very generous tasty breakfast. Great service. Tasty evening meal and a nice atmosphere in the pub. I forgot my phone charger and the landlord kindly lent me one. 3rd time we've stayed here and I recommend it.

Quiet cosy room above a pub serving great food. Always a warm welcome by the great staff. Stay here twice a year as it ticks all the tight boxes. Good car park, comfy room and great shower with reasonable Wi-Fi for the area.
