Hotel Paraíso Encantado

Great location for the Edward James Gardens and also had parking for our motorbikes.

It is a good half hour walk to town but that means it quiet!

Food was delicious, the staff at the restaurant very friendly, and the location beautiful. Very close to las Pozas.

Location is great to get to see the main tourist attractions in Xilitla, most of them at walking distance. The manager arranged a tour to the Sótano de las Golondrinas and Cascadas de Tamul. Very attentive and resourceful. Great if you hadn't anything planned ahead. The "Enchiladas huastecas" at the restaurant are very good!

No phone in the room to order from the restaurant if raining. Rooms are separate buildings and you would need an umbrella to reach the restaurant if the rain is heavy. I guess I could have called the front desk from my phone if I was really hungry though.

The location was perfect, just a few minutes from Las Pozas, it had a lovely courtyard with a pool. The room had a lovely (shared) terrace with seating and the beds were very comfortable. There was WiFi and A/C too. The staff were friendly and helpful and kindly stored some our fresh food in their kitchen fridge. We didn’t use the restaurant facilities.

The bathroom was very small and there was a horrible smell coming from the sink plug hole. The toilet lid also didn’t stay up on it’s own you had to hold it or lean in it so it didn’t fall on you while using the toilet.

The hotel is close to the Edward James gardens but not to anything else. The restaurant is fairly limited in its offerings. There were several families there at the time and the noise carried into our room.

Good location, attractive facilities

The hotel looks really nice but there is definitely a problem about the attitude of the staff. They just don't care. The worst is the waitress at the restaurant 1- whom we have to get out from the kitchen to serve us (twice) and 2- who barely admits when she serves a meal that's not supposed to be spicy and which turns out to be super spicy. Most disappointing service in 2 weeks travelling in Mexico. Enough for us to encourage other tourists to reconsider going to this hotel

At the beggining, we dont had hot warm water in the room, I called the numbers but nobody answer all the times I talked with reception needs to go to the desk, it was so far. First they turn on the hot water, but it was just warm, need to ask again and after the second visit it was warm enoguh, not hot, then I want to fill the small badtub on the balcon but the hot water was closed, then ask again to come and open it... all the time I had the feeling they want to spare on hot water. During night, it rains and the water came inside the room. Not the best cleaning of the room. At the restauran I ask for food but after more that 45 minutes they forgot to cook my meals, eventhoug I asked twice for the meals... it was no pleasant time there.

The hotel and restaurant were great. It is only a short walk from Las Pozas. The staff was very courteous.
