Historic Victorian Inn

Really gorgeous victorian home that needs some TLC. I hope they continue to renovate it, it has great bones.

There was no mention of a required $300 deposit when you booked the room. You' also had to sign a rental agreement. Neither of which I have ever been presented with before. The bed and bedding were pretty bad.

Definitely an old Victorian home, with all of those charms to go with it! The bed was very comfortable and clean. Everything about this place made you feel as if you stepped back in time.

While our stay was very enjoyable it was hard not to notice all of the little things that could be improved on. None of the windows would open, or even fully shut so they could be properly locked. The paint in the bathroom by the tub was cracked and peeling. There are little defects everywhere that could easily be touched up with a stain marker. You would not want to open the windows because the screens are full of holes. While everything was pretty clean it appears that no major updates have been done for a long time. You feel as if you are staying in a 1888 home in the 1920's.

First time ever doing this kind of rental. It was absolutely amazing to be in such an old historic house and it was fully furnished everything you could possibly imagine eating in the kitchen they had. Although I didn't use the kitchen I would like to come back with some other people and cook a great big meal there.

It would be nice if there is a person at the home to greet me. I suggested they might even have someone dress up in 1880s costume and act as an interpreter and give history about the historic 1888 home

They wouldn’t let you check in until 5 o’clock. I’m standing at the door 10 minutes before trying to check in and they’ve gotta unlock it from the outside then at 8 o’clock in the morning they were texting me to wake up and get the hell out of there . for 150 it was a rip off the tub was disgusting. You couldn’t take a bath in it.

Despite a less than stellar 1st visit, our 2nd exceeded our expectations. We had our room upgraded to the GOLD room on the 1st floor near the back door entrance and kitchen. Steve was very helpful and addressed all of our issues. Gorgeous Footed tub. Very well outfitted kitchen and service for as many as you can cook for. Gorgeous appointments throughout the home.

Radiant heat is Too hot and you can’t open Windows. Steve shut it down for the night and it was great. Getting in and out of the tub can be difficult/dangerous. We weren’t particularly fond of the TV service, or we didn’t know how to take full advantage of it.

Good location. Lovely old home. Had what we needed.

MANY RULES of what is /is not allowed and a separate “rental agreement” even for one night. We have 2 separate reservations and have received (so far) an ONEROUS THIRTY FOUR EMAILS stuffing our box and a number of texts from the owners!! Surely their IT can find a method to stop the redundancy. If booking.com did this, we would stop using them. The room deposit is $300 for each reservation! But it was released quickly w/expect a delay back to VISA. They want names, separate phone # and email for each guest, but accepted that we don’t have separate. Be sure you can handle stairs. It was too hot all night and you are forbidden to open a window. They do provide a fan. . You must be computer savvy and capable of filling all the information out while on the road, which is not easy on a cell phone. There is a fee if you want an early check in before 5pm, which is a late time for many weary travelers.
