SMITH PLACE HOTEL

The room itself was above expectations, a great bathroom and a very nice location, the coffee shop that is next door (where you get a discount) is great. The only thing is the room is quite small. Perfect for one person, a couple is fine but not “comfortable”. It’s good as a place to sleep, bit if a base camp. The contactless entry was excellent also. I would book again.

Great value, clean room, excellent location, very nice staff. Only hitch was that the curtain for the skylight wouldn't close, but the nice lady at the front desk offered up some beers as an apology. Worked for me! Oh and they deactivated our room code prior to checkout time. Luckily there was someone at the front desk to give us an actual key card. All in all, great though.

It was close to the tram stop for getting into the city and there were plenty of cafés, bars, restaurants and convince shops in walking distance. The bed was nice and big, and there was plenty of space in the room. (We were given a disabled room even though none of us were disabled, but we were absolutely fine with this)

The sofa bed for my child was very hard with an uncomfortable dent in the middle, and the pillows on the bed were very thin and not comfortable. The shower leaked badly in the bathroom, and there was no shelf to put our wash bags on or even a cup holder for our toothbrushes. The extractor fan in the bathroom was very insufficient considering there was no window in the bathroom or bedroom that could be opened. There was only a skylight in the roof, but this didn't open and gave no ventilation.

There was no reception, couldn’t get in. Room is too small. Hard to wash my face.

Buena ubicación, paradas de bus y tranvía cerca, muy bien comunicado. Baño reformado, cama comoda y habitación amplia. Muchas opciones de cafeterías y bares al girar la esquina.

Habitación sin ventilación. Fuerte olor en el baño. No hay recepción 24h. No nos cambiaron las toallas ni limpiaron la habitación durante nuestra estancia.

The location was great. central and just off the lively, interesting Leith Walk but was still a quiet and peaceful place to stay. the room was small but fine with a very comfortable bed. The staff were friendly and helpful. The price was very reasonable. It exceeded my expectations as there was no sense of being in a cheap place.

I wouldn't have asked for more given the price
