Rockliffe Hall

From the moment we arrived for breakfast, the team at Rockliffe Hall set the tone with warm professionalism, calm efficiency, and genuine care. Every touch felt considered—from how smoothly things were flowing through the dining space to the thoughtful way tables were attended to and guests were welcomed. A special mention must go to Helen. Her performance was truly incredible. She has an exceptional eye for detail and an instinct for making sure everything feels effortless: checking in at exactly the right moments, noticing small needs before they were even mentioned, and ensuring that the whole breakfast experience ran flawlessly. Her attentiveness was consistent, never intrusive—just spot-on. It’s clear she takes real pride in the standard she delivers, and her care made a noticeable difference to our morning. Helen is surly a Manager in the making Overall, the breakfast experience was not only delicious, but delivered with a level of service that’s rare—polished, welcoming, and clearly underpinned by strong teamwork. Please pass on our thanks to Helen and the entire breakfast team for making our stay feel genuinely special.

The full stay was excellent, the staff were lovely. We enjoyed use of the spa and a treatment. I would 100% recommend.

I highly recommend this gorgeous hotel - it never disappoints. Everything there is of excellent quality and the service is exceptional. It absolutely deserves its 5 star rating. We will be back soon

Great hotel with genuinely friendly staff, always a pleasure to speak with them. The quality of the food for the price was excellent, and breakfast in particular was something to look forward to each morning, with a great selection and brilliant staff running it smoothly. Even though there was work going on at the hotel during our stay, we didn’t notice any disruption at all, which was impressive. We stayed for three nights and overall had a really enjoyable experience. That said, a couple of small areas could be improved. The dressing gowns in the room were in poor condition and felt unpleasant. They would benefit from being replaced with newer, thicker ones. It would also be good if they were refreshed daily. The towels were clean, but they lacked a sense of quality or luxury you might expect at this level. The spa itself was great, but there weren’t enough beds available at times, which seemed to be due to towels being left unattended. This is something staff could keep on top of more closely. That said, these are minor points in the grand scheme of things, not exactly real world problems, and we would 100% stay again.

Lovely meal at the clubhouse, a very friendly and knowledgeable team happy to converse with guests and truly make for a memorable experience, unfortunately I didn’t get the young lady’s name who served us but she was a light brunette with glasses, such a lovely lady, and an Italian gentleman assisting with our wine for the evening very knowledgable and more than happy to guide with the wine selection in our preferences

Perfect customer service and food. Helen expertly serving us with Harriott sparking conversations making us feel included. 5 star experience- will definitely be coming back

Great to have all the poached egg items back on the menu. Second time we have been in 2 weeks the eggs Benedict is just divine. We love coming to the clubhouse the ladies always give a warm friendly, genuine welcome.
