OYO Hotel Salem-Roanoke I-81

The property is under other name Blue Jay motel. Isn't clean and nice as the pictures. It has very old and damaged carpet.

Hotel was dirty and outdated. Advertised as a nonsmoking room and as soon as you opened the room door, you were welcomed with a burst of smoke odor. So uncomfortable that we didn’t even stay and went to another hotel. Couldn’t check out or ask for a refund because nobody was to be found at the front desk.

Worse experience ever, it is not what they advertised on website. No hot water, room had a moisture smell, tub was dirty and it seems they tried to upgrade the rooms but they only threw a bucket of paint on walls Sorry to sound so mean but I can not believe OYO hotel chains let this establishment be in business.

No sign for Oyo hotel, it was the blue jay motel and we had trouble finding it! Building was old and dilapidated. Towels were so worn out that we had trouble using them. It was clean and when we got there, it was late and we were tired so we stayed. When we checked in, we found out that our reservation was canceled. Area was having trouble with their computers. I’m surprised that Hotels.com offered this place on their site.

Room wasn't clean. Moldy bathroom. No electric plugs in bathroom. Run down. We thought it was closed at first. Doesn't look like website pictures. There is no restaurant or pool. Not taken care of. Would never stay there again.

Really run down , thought it was closed. Rooms was semi clean came home sick from air conditioning

It smelled musty and stale.

Basic hotel room. Good sized room. Clean.

This was an overnight stop on a longer road trip. I was just looking for a place to sleep. It fit the bill for that. It was not the cleanest hotel or best kept. Condition was poor and would not stay or recommend staying here as there are better options within a short distance. Also it is isolated with minimal closeby food, etc.

We were not given one of the updated rooms pictured on Hotels.com. The room we stayed in was dirty and smelly. The carpet was ripped and stained. The bathroom counter was held up by metal poles. If we weren't so tired, we would have gone somewhere else to stay. Very disappointed. Will not stay there again.
