OYO Hotel Salem-Roanoke I-81

If you want no frills, a good bed (excellent mattress), at a decent price this works.

This is an old school, very old school, motel that I think was built in the 1960s. It has not been renovated, other than basic maintenance, since then. I stayed with no problems but I'm a hardened world traveler who has stayed in 2/3star hotels in 3rd world countries. This place is basic basic. The owner was very friendly and very accommodating. I kind of feel sorry for him trying to make a go with such out dated tools. I'm thinking OYO Hotels is just a marketing company that will sign on any and all properties without review.

I was a little hesitant when I pulled up to the property bc it looked kinda run down. Even with that in my mind I got some of the best rest at this OYÓ. I would recommend it highly.

Nice, clean room. Easy access. Quick (and early) check in. Stayed due to weather, I live far to get to work in nasty weather, so this is very convenient.

Room was freezing cold. Water was dirty brown, no hot water. Never again!!!!

It's a dated hotel, but the room was clean. Showers take a while to warm up and bed was ok. No bad smells or dirty feeling from the carpet. Some minor confusion getting checked in, but it was a late night check-in. Good Wi-Fi connection. Since it was just me I wanted something fast and cheap. Not bad overall for the price.

Great place for a quick stay. Could use some upgrades but it was fine for one night. Not the Taj Mahal for sure, but adequate. Staff was great!!

Simple and quaint little rooms. Wish there were outlets in the bathroom for things like a hair dryer.

The hotel is you get what you pay for but the main problem I have with it is it listed itself as oyo roanoke but is the bluejay motel so we had trouble finding it. If you want a very cheap stay it's great but it is cheap.

no refund no sleep rooms dirty bugs in shower and bathroom they never clean the rooms bed was remade with dirty sheets and rooms smell like mouth balls. ac doesn't work wifi not working and tv stations one channel on tv only. person next to me had 4 dogs that barked the whole 1 night I rented a room there big mistake and they offer a weekly rate but no refunds bc there rooms suck.
