Island Guesthouse and Motel

The Island Guesthouse was one of the cleanest places we have ever stayed. It was also very peaceful and quiet. Everyone we dealt with during our stay was helpful and friendly. The bathroom is a little small but it worked fine for our family. The Guesthouse was also conveniently located for the things we wanted to do while in the Manteo area.

It was a cute little place, very friendly people and very comfortable beds. That’s my biggest issue when traveling, so I was very happy with the whole place.

If you’re in town and need a nice quiet place to stay, this is it. Highly recommend.

Clint the owner greeted us and made us feel special. He and his team truly knows the meaning of hospitality. We had two rooms for the four of us. Both were superb. We also had a tour of the other rooms and all were beautiful. I work in high end hospitality and this place is fabulous. Clint also gave us some really good tips on where to dine. Spot on. Anyone visiting the Manteo area should book this place. A gem for sure. The attention to detail in each room is sublime.

Booked the last room available at late notice. Located in Manteo which is away from the beachiness of the OBX but conveniently located to get to things north and south easily. Manteo has a cute downtown and things to explore on its own. The hotel is a historic house and inn that has been totally updated. The rooms are nicely appointed and the hosts are accommodating and friendly. Because it is in an old house (at least our room was) the stairs are narrow and there are a few creaks in the floor. Nice front porch and fire pit area. Net-net — nice, unique place away from the beach.. would stay here again!

Beautiful property hidden within surrounding foliage. Perfectly laid out and rooms remodeled so modern. Staff was extremely friendly and hospitable. Loved the gravel drive with sea glass, tiki bar area for groups (bring own beverage) and fire pit area for your group. Just a more personal touch than a hotel.Loved our stay!
