Arne's Place The Friendliest Hotel

We really enjoyed our stay at Arne’s place and Haleem is a wonderful host! Our room was spacious and clean and the location was very central.

The staff was so nice and so kind, a beautiful stay and close to everything. The AC broke and the staff fixed it for us. Recommend it

We came here off season and therefor we noticed that the room haven't been used for weeks, so the room was really moist, but after 3 days everything was okey.

Kind stuff, nice breakfast, extremely nice garden, the location is close to beach and also close to themain street and good restaurants, true oasis amid the big hotels, very good organisation of safari trips or additional activities.

The place has no sea wiev as mentioned in the booking.com, because a new hotel is under construction few meters away and blocking the wiev and access to the beach. Our bathroom (probably the only one) was only partial covered with the roof, so the rain litterally poured on person sitting on the toilet.

Beautiful place and amazingly friendly staff. The inner courtyard is perfect for chilling and we spent some time in the hanging mats just reading and relaxing. Great value for money

Unfortunately there’s construction in front of the property going on so that the sea view is limited. During our time the noise wasn’t much of a deal.

If you’re looking for a special place in Arugam Bay - this is it. We got welcomed so warmly by Haleem and his family/friends, they made our stay unforgettable. Rooms are cosy, it’s right by the beach and you can tell they put their heart into the place. Will come back for sure.

Great owners ! Lovely ambient even though it is not directly on the beach. Delicious breakfast the best we had on Sri Lanka .

Rooms and houses are very different. Some are nicer some not . Unfortunate in front of the hotel there is construction field now.

Location - perfect, super close to the beach and city centre, with shops and restaurants in the neighborhood, but quiet. Comfort - interior is quite rough, but it helps keeping the house clean. AC working just fine, a lot of space, with a place to sit outside. Everything you should need is there. Clean. Price - reasonable for what you get. You can order food there and have surfing lessons. Staff - nice and helpful, sometimes a bit slow. We would strongly recommend this place, we really enjoyed our stay.

No hot water in the shower and there was an issue with the water in general. We didn't have water all day long but once we talk to the staff they took care of it
