"An excllent hotel to stay at."

10.0

Such a lovely hotel. The restaurant was good and the bartender made the best martini. The starter selection was disappointing but the restaurant had a nice atmosphere. Wonderful minibar and the pool was relaxing.

The TV would randomly sign me out of Netflix in the middle of the movie and the WiFi was often lagging.

"Thank You Cotton Court"

10.0

I attended a Celebration of Life service for my niece Karissa Opp which was held in their beautiful banquet room. Also the food was catered by the restaurant on site. I stayed for a 3 night stay flying in from Virginia Beach. I used there beautiful pool during the day and at night they provided live entertainment. They have a very nice restaurant on site which provides high quality food. I can’t say enough about every employee that works there they are very helpful and super friendly. I enjoyed my stay and greatly appreciate the how nice everything turned out at such an emotional time for me, my family and friends. I highly recommend staying here. If I ever return to Lubbock I definitely will be staying here. Thank you Cotton Court!

"Be Very Aware Before Booking"

4.0

The place as a whole is great because there is a decent, yet expensive restaurant. However, they charge you $18 a day if you don't dine there and charge it to the room, so you are basically bound to go to the restaurant. Parking is also an issue. A ton of outside people come and swim and use the restaurant leaving no parking for the paying customers. Personally, I would prefer to not have to park in the north 40 and walk by myself over a block when there is no immediate parking. The pillows are HORRID. All HUGE and super plush that when you lay your head down, you lose all ability to hear and see. For the prices they charge, these things need to be addressed. I will no longer stay there for these specific reasons alone.

It’s a beautiful design, and the retro/modern vibe is great!

The soft furnishings/rugs in the rooms are dirty.

"Initially Charming but overrated and overpriced"

6.0

Looks are deceiving here. While the hotel and amenities are a plenty, the rooms are lacking and misleading. Starting with check-in, Daniella was absolutely amazing! Very helpful, held eye contact, has definitely had higher level customer service training. Think Disney, Ritz Carlton, Carnegie level. No pointing here or there. Walking with me to show me. We arrived late after a long drive and the complimentary adult beverage and spring water were a pleasant surprise. I booked a deluxe king room and was given room 252. The courtyard, pool area, indoor/outdoor restaurant are stunning. Parking is very limited and if you arrive late, you will have to park in a sketchy overflow parking lot that makes you worry the car will be towed or stolen. There is valet parking as well at $25/per day, as many in/outs as you want. This parking lot is one block away from overflow parking and not secured either, so, save yourself the money and self park. We also saw how the valets were driving the vehicles around to park and my husband said, no way. The room at first glance was visually appealing and smelled good. I loved the vaulted shiplap ceilings, the retro refrigerator, robes, urban/industrial vibe. However, that is where things begin to be less appealing. I booked the deluxe king room that can accommodate 3 with a couch. The couch does not pull out and my 5'9 daughter barely fit on it. It's smaller than a twin bed. Daniella had explained explicitly where to locate the extra linens in the room and the bins were empty. I had to call the front desk for linens for this couch. Luckily, our daughter was checking into orientation and camp at Tech and was only spending the one night with us. I would not recommend this as a sleeping option for longer than that. It's not comfortable at all. The comforter of the king bed had dried/old blood and urine/spill stains on it as well as the pillows. The handle for the shower is broken and appears to have been hot glued back on several times. The shower is disgusting with mold and gunk that is so bad, it got all over the corners of the shower curtain. The bathroom area and toilet are one and seperated from the bed by only a barn door so the only privacy is visual privacy. The retro fridge is a cool feature and well stocked however, there is no card or labeling as to how much the snacks and drinks are. Upon leaving and returning to the room each day, the smell of the room was more musty and old. You can begin to see the stains in the carpet and notice the layer of dust on the light fixtures, window sill, baseboards. Etc. I would venture to say, not much gets cleaned between guests. More like a broom-swept condition. Of my 4 nights/5 days stay, I made it out to the pool on Saturday afternoon. At one point, there were 17 kids in the pool aged 10 and younger. Adults were greatly outnumbered by kids and I wondered if the hotel does resort passes? Many of the kidless adults, left. There were no pool towels and I had to ask housekeeping to bring more. It appears they don't have enough pool towels as, they brought out bath towels. The hotel restaurant and bar were fantastic! We ordered wings, salmon, Brussels sprouts and a chicken Cesar salad during our stay. We had drinks in the bar every day of our visit. The biggest selling point of this hotel is location to Texas Tech. It is visually very appealing but in the end, lackluster and overrated for what it was. I would consider staying here again perhaps, but, I would check the sheets and pillows FIRST and likely only as a last resort as the value does not meet the expectation. For over a thousand dollars for 4 nights, I expected more luxury.
