The Calvert Hotel

We really enjoyed our time here and would definitely stay again!

This is an interestion old hotel, with a great location in downtown Lewiston. I think it used to be a school dormitory in the 1920s, and has been converted into a 2-storey hotel. My room was a huge, L-shaped layout with a shiny and squeaky-clean bathroom in the nook of the L. In addition to a king bed along one wall, there was a couch, table and chairs and a TV across one full wall. You know, for all the empty space they could do with adding a small fridge. Other than that, the room was quite comfortable for a 3-night stay. The room rate included a breakfast buffet, most of which was above-average, standard US fare: chafing dishes of bacon, sausage, eggs, and hash browns. But the best part are their fresh-baked scones. Delicious! Being an older building, the sound-proofing isn't that great and there was a lot of noise from the hallways as people went by. Overall, though, a very nice hotel and I'd stay here again if in Lewiston.

Nice rooms in this historic building. It was in a great location and close to restaurants and coffee. The free breakfast was excellent.

Property was well taken care of and very clean!

Definitely the nicest hotel in Lewistown by a good margin. The room is spacious, the King sized bed was a dream, my wife loved the jetted tub and the full breakfast buffet with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and hashbrowns was fantastic. The breakfast offset any price difference over other hotels. A fantastic value.
