The property is a bit dated as it’s a very old building but kept up very nice. Everything was clean and the staff was as very friendly. Beautiful Mountain View at the waterfront. I would stay again.

Two out of three windows in this corner room did not have screens during the blackfly season. No fan of any sort or air conditioning. No hairdryer. No phone, no clock, Space heaters, the mattress was a saggy, overaged with a foam topping added, so it became soft and soggy. Bathroom door doesn't close properly obviously ignored for years. I can understand rustic, but this room cost $235. Knock off $100 and it will be on target. In fairness, all of your staff people were very helpful and polite.

"Authentic ADK Experience"

10.0

As someone who spent years living in the Adirondacks, staying at The Woods Inn was like coming home. Read on to find out if this place is for you: Built in the late 19th century, the Woods Inn reflects a bygone era. There are steam radiators, creaky floors, and lots and lots of stairs. My room's bathroom sloped downhill, but again, it's an old building. Tucked away from Inlet's Main Street, The Woods Inn welcomes guests past a garden of mint. Up the stairs is check in. To the left is the the lakefront and the dock. To the right is the downstairs bar. As a solo traveler, my room was dark, but I didn't have plans to stay in it for long. There are no televisions in the rooms. I was in town for an outdoor experience and planned to take advantage of the hotel's, town's, and surrounding area's experiences. I did spend enough time in the room to read their copy of Gary Paulsen's The Camp Cook, which I enjoyed immensely. Things I could hear from my room: the people in the adjacent room. They were respectful and quiet. I could hear the karaoke from the basement bar, but that came to an end around ten. But then you could also hear the resident loons who have taken up residence on Fourth Lake. And at a certain point, there was the ADK sound of nothing. Just absolute peace. The employees went above and beyond during the stay. I was offered an upgrade, but I turned it down due to having to carry my bike up an extra floor. The bartender lent me her charger because my phone died. The innkeeper was attentive to residents' drinks as they sat on the wrap around porch. They were the nicest people. The highlight of the stay is the lakefront access. The sunset was dramatic on my second night. Think dark clouds with beams of lights poking through. All this was witnessed from the Adirondack chairs. Guests took turns gaining access to the dock to get a better view. Boaters criss-crossed the lake and ducks skidded to stops on the water's edge. All of this can be experienced by sitting on the lakefront, and not in the room. I highly recommend staying here for any of the reasons listed above. It's a lot of fun.

This is a wondeful 130-year-old hotel right on 4th Lake. Everything is within walking distance and the Laughing Loon is a good place to have a meal, a snack, and/or a drink. If there is a negative, it's the stairs - if you cannot do stairs, then this may not be the place for you.

"Best place to relax in Inlet ! "

10.0

Had an incredible overnight with my son and new bride. The owner and lovely daughter made incredible efforts to make sure we all had a memorable stay. The rooms had beautiful views of the lake ,, very cozy with even bathrobes and slippers in the room . There were many chairs to sit by the lake with a dock to fish off of. The lodge has a pool table , tables to play games , corn hole setup, a cute bar on site. It is located a block from the best coffee shops and stores. Even saw a deer walking on the property, I would highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway!
