Lavendish Wild Safari

The room was a good size and clean. The pool area is beautiful and it was nice to relax there. The restaurant is reasonably priced, serving good food and the location is very convenient for a safari at Wasgamuwa.

The bathroom door wouldn’t shut and the whole place felt a bit run down.

Food was not nice. Taxi driver's price is unfair, I recommend arranging a ride in advance, the local taxi driver wants double the price. Safari - first we were recommended to go on a safari in the morning, when there is the greatest chance of seeing animals. In the reservation, the guide told us that it is best after lunch, than the hotel recommended the evening. We drove in the morning, we saw neither elephants nor bears nor leopards. I understand this happens but I do not like that the advice varied depending on what time it was and so how many times we could pay again...

Good location for the safari

Our room had mould. Overall the property feels like it’s in need of a renovation.

Very nice and clean hotel. Large room, well equipped bathroom, swimming pool in the garden. Everyone was nice and helpful.

The only problem was with the food. Dinner was pretty much the same both nights and not really tasty. It would have been much better with real local food.

Great location for the safari and wonderful views. Pool was great!

Very basic facilities. A lot of flies at breakfast. Rooms were not very clean.
