Lavendish Wild Safari

Good location for safari pick up with external provider. Pool was great, deck chairs and good quality towels provided. Restaurant food was pretty good.

The room was large, clean, and comfortable. It had hangers for clothes and a kettle. The location and view are stunning. Overlooking the lake with lots of birds in the grounds too. We booked a safari through the hotel and were not disappointed. We were 1 of only 2 trucks on the afternoon drive and saw so many elephant and lovely birds.

The dining room is very large and echos. It lacks any atmosphere, and some music would help. Breakfast wasn't given as any options but was OK. Emerging meals also just ok. The hotel could benefit from some outside seating for dining and also some pool loungers with sunshades. Only 2 loungers are provided.

Lovely staff and good am facilities. We really enjoyed the safari. Go here if you want to see a lot of birds! And unspoiled wildlife, like elephants.

The food wasn't that enjoyable. It's kinda expensive and the taste was bland. However breakfast and packed lunch were good. The portions are to big.

The staff were super friendly and the rooms were really comfortable. If you want to go on a safari to Wasgamuwa, this is the perfect hotel. They arrange safaris and can pack food for the trip. The view from the pool area is also beautiful!

We greatly enjoyed our couple of nights at Lavendish Wild Safari, from beginning to end! Ahead of time, the staff were able to set us up with a brilliant safari drive to kick off just after we arrived - and it was brilliant, we were lucky enough to be able to linger with a group of elephants that our excellent guide had spotted. Back at base, we really enjoyed the pool, room service, the excellent buffet supper, delicious breakfast, pleasant rooms and very comfortable beds. We also appreciated the help of the staff in confirming a local driver and vehicle for our onward journey.

Great location! Was very relaxing and quiet for a therapeutic getaway(: The customer service from reception was great. They went above and beyond to explain things to us as we were not from the area.

The lunch food wasn’t the best unfortunately. We ordered the thai noodles and fried rice and sadly only ate a few handfuls. More taste is required.
