Lavendish Wild Safari

Location. Wonderful staff. Clean room

Food was only offered on a buffet basis, but this was not made clear when we booked. On the night of our stay there was a large party on an escorted tour, who had pretty much devoured the lot when we went for dinner. As we were traveling independently and had booked D,B & B, it would have been nice to have been offered an a'la Carte option as there was very little choice left. Only a minor inconvenience as everything else was fine.

Spacious room and in an excellent setting. We enjoyed the pool as well. The staff were very helpful, attentive and polite.

The fabric of the hotel was tired and in need of some maintenance. For example, the waste plumbing in our bathroom leaked, and some sliding doors in the hotel did not slide easily.

The view from the bedroom was over the lake and absolutely beautiful. The swimming pool was an added bonus and kept really clean. Staff were really helpful. Food on offer was varied, the quality good and fairly priced. Room was a good size and comfortably furnished. They organised a safari at Wasgamuwa National Park for us, with collection from the hotel. This was outstanding in terms of the park, the guide, the driver and the animals we were able to see. (Recommend doing an afternoon safari as you see more).

There were a couple of dogs wandering around the swimming pool, but they appeared friendly enough,

Location, food, friendly staff Facing the lake is an amazing view. We saw a beautiful peacock. the hut on the tree is a great experience. Cool relaxing place.

Cleanliness - some towels had old marks, There was a kettle, but no socket near the tables, toilets had few old marks. They nneed to ggive a small attention to the pool. I have to say this is a constructive critisism. it is a nice place and friendly staff. If they rectify these smaller issues they will get 10 out of 10.

This is a great place if you want to do a safari in the less developed Wasgamuwa national park. It is very secluded and peaceful. Breakfast was great.

The food options for lunch and dinner are rather limited and take a long time to cook.
