Lavendish Wild Safari

Nice views & area. Friendly staff & tasty food. Stayed for only one night, would have stayed for longer in order to enjoy all fcilities, such as pool etc.

One of the bed sheets were tiered up with a hole in it - so standard there could have been higher.

The room was fine but no western food was available even though on the menu.

As above no option for western food.

Good location for Safari and organising the jeep.

Waited over an hour for food and didn’t have everything on the menu. We were made to feel like the staff were inconvenienced. We didn’t like anything about the hotel and would not ever return or recommend.

Great Safari arranged by the hotel. Stunning views to wake up to and lovely garden. Very helpful staff.

The breakfast was excellent and the staff was very, very good. They were really friendly and kind to us. They did what they could to make me feel comfortable and even arranged for my saree to be delivered.

Wish they would clean in pool in the evenings as there was just too many leaves in the pool.

Great location with beautiful view of the lake and overlooking Knuckles Range. It’s also the best hotel located close to Wasgamuwa National Park. Food is amazing here, one of the best local food we ever had in Sri Lanka, especially the Vegetarian Set and Sri Lankan breakfast! The staff were also courteous and efficient, although some of them don’t speak English, but it wasn’t a problem for us.

Internet connection in the room was weak but it works well in the reception counter.

We like this hotel so much that we went back twice. Location is perfect for exploring the nearby wildlife park where we saw large herds of elephants with parents  and calves. Also lots of birds, mongoose, deer, and monkeys.  staff at the hotel are extremely helpful. Very friendly. The pool is great. Restaurant service very good with a standard but nicely cooked menu. 

A fridge in the room would be useful for travelling. Some fly screen on the balcony doors would allow sleeping without the air-conditioner which would be nice.
