Whisky Point Resort

Just amazing would summarize it best! Anna and the Whisky Point Team warmly welcomed us and made our stay relaxed, joyful and absolutly worth it. We stayed a few days in a lovely upper cabana, which has been furnished with an eye for an detail and enjoyed good sleep with the sound of the sea. The team was just stunning! They recommended and helped with trips, offered awesome Italien Food (Special for Sri Lanka) and helped even when sunburn was an issue :) Just book your stay and enjoy the resort!

Even after long consideration, nothing to complain

Hands down the best place stayed during our travel through Sri Lanka. We were made to feel like part of the family. Everyone and everything about this place is 12/10. Location - incredible, service - outstanding, food and drinks - delicious, rooms - exceptionally comfortable. The local knowledge for the area and surf was also amazing, we were given such great guidance and recommendations for things to do and places to surf. We can’t wait to head back!

Staff were all amazing, room was amazing, breakfast was amazing, beach was amazing. Would literally stay here every year if we could it was unbelievable and exceeded all expectations.

Literally nothing it was a perfect, relaxing trip

We spent 3 nights in this little paradise and enjoyed every minute of it. The whole resort is very lovely and looks in fact better than on the pictures (guess they are old by now). Service is outstanding, Niko and his whole team made us feel at home and provided an oustanding service whether it was organizing a scooter, boat safari or the food. Speaking of the food, the pizza is as good as in italy if not even better. The breakfast focaccia is also super delicious. (Even if you do not stay there, go to the restaurant for the Pizza). The resort is about 20min away from Arugam bay and therefore pretty quiet especially during off season. It has only 10 rooms and therefore is intimate. Perfect to chill. We were there in March and even though it was off season it was sunny all day every day. I can only agree with the rest of the reviews. We had high expectations going there and they were exceeded. Absolutely nothing, book this hotel.

This is by far the best accommodation we’ve been to in Sri Lanka. Even though some people avoid this area during February as it’s considered low season, we had the best experience. It was quiet, sunny and relaxing. Anna and Nicolo are the best hosts and help out with whatever you need; surfing, safari, transport, etc. Their restaurant has delicious traditional pizza, pasta and more. Besides that, we saw a whole range of wildlife in the area, including free roaming elephants and crocodiles. After 3 nights I decided to extend my stay in Sri Lanka and come back for another full week at Whisky Point. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience!

If you’re looking for buzzing restaurants and nightlife or many other tourists around you, this area might be a bit too quiet.

Our adventure started with a free room upgrade so we got an upper cabanas and an amazing breakfast. It became clear very fast that the owners but also the staff is watching every second what they can do for us. The extra pillows for the free gazebo/shade were there within minutes after we occupied it. They arranged all the attractions the surf lessons, the tuk-tuks, everything. The garden is beautifully maintained which is not a small job. The food is amazing (Italian cuisine with Italian ingredients and the wifi is perfect. The bed is equipped with a mosquito net and it is needed there.

It is not about the property but worth mentioning that this area is for surfing (which is safe and joyful to do there) but the water is wavy and not truly for snorkeling or diving.

Right by the sea and with a bar, restaurant and yoga studio all on hand. Staff were all delightful, especially Anna who actually got me doing some yoga (my old stiff muscles allowed a bit of extension !)

We liked everything thank you

Loved all our talks with the owners, the fantastic. Italian food and the cozy atmosphere In this little beautiful off the beaten track resort near Surfers paradise - Arugam Bay and the least visited part of Yala National Park. The bungalows are beautiful and it felt like a home away from home for us so even though. it was a long ride from Colombo airport but worth it

We stayed for New Year and was a bit dissapointed that it was not celebrated a bit more. They made a complimentary dinner which was a very nice gesture but the food was not as good as on normal days and the waiting time a bit long. A few decorations could have been nice too

Unforgettable experience! From the very beginning, a warm welcome, a staff full of professionalism, especially Anna, who took care of us wholeheartedly. We received a complimentary room upgrade and were amazed by the food, location, and views. Even for non-surfers, it's a magical place. Highly recommended!
