Whisky Point Resort

La colazione era ottima e abbondante, il personale gentile e competente e la posizione fantastica con la vista sul mare. Abbiamo trascorso 15 giorni in questo posto meraviglioso, ottimo per il reax e per i surfisti a soli 10 minuti di passeggiata in spiaggia da Pottuvil Point. . Ma la ricchezza piu grande sono Nicola e Anna i propietari. La loro presenza , la loro cordialità ci ha fatto sentire come a casa di amici. Abbiamo fatto davvero fatica ad andare via :-)

Incredible place! Customer service, location, facilities were all top notch. Highly recommend!

Nicola, the italian owner and Anna are absolutely fabulous. They organized everything like surf lessons, tuk tuk drives to see wild elefants, and all the drivers we had for all our trip - and this for free!! The place is so nice & beautiful. Right on the sea, with open wooden huts and a fabulous italian restaurant. We would come back there and stay longer (we stayed 3 nights). You can even use the pool next to the resort if you want to change after the sea.

Relaxed atmosphere, great food and the staff are very friendly and attentative, great location right on the beach away from the busier Arugam bay but still only 15-20 minutes in on a scooter or tuk tuk. , we really enjoyed our stay, thanks 😊

This place is amazingly beautiful, a true beach resort. The rooms might seem basic at first sight, but we found them really beautiful, the wooden cabins are really thoughtfully designed, simple, but clean and comfy. It is true that we didn't miss AC in April although we had wondered before arriving, there was a bit of wind and we never felt too hot in the rooms, especially the one on the first floor. The restaurant building is beautiful and it was such a delight to sit there, look at the palm trees, have a fresh fruit juice with a view towards the beach, hear the waves... very relaxing. In April there were only a few couples for short stays, so it was very calm during our 5 nights there. The beach huts are amazing, the staff brings you cushions and full service with food and drinks - almost on the beach - that was a real luxury, we thought. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast is amazing with a fresh fruit platter and bread or muesli/fruit or other dishes, best breakfast we had on our whole journey! Fresh, cool water anytime is an excellent service we appreciated very much! About surfing: We were happy to have the surfboard rental organized by Whisky Point a few weeks before our arrival with Sam's Surfshop. The very friendly owner brought the boards to Whisky Point and also picked us up with the boards every day in order to go to Peanut Farm by Tuktuk (with the boards again). Thanks to Sam, excellent service!

We had dinner sometimes which was good, especially the bowls but also pizza although normally we always looked for local food and loved our rice and curry. The menu is too European we thought, and some dishes are extremely expensive (18 Euros for a lasagna) for Sri Lankan prices. As there is almost nothing around the place, we took Tuk Tuks all the time to get dinner in Arugam Bay. But this does not mean that food is not good at Whisky Point, to the contrary, the Pizza was excellent. For swimmers and especially families: The beach is beautiful, but please be very careful as there is a mean and very dangerous undercurrent at the left side of the barrier which you might not see. Don't go swimming there. What surfers have to know: In April the wave of Whisky Point is not reliable, so much we knew. But we have been told that it has not been surfable in the past two years altogether, so the idea to stay at a place with direct access to a surfing spot does not seem to work anymore.

Whisky Point Resort is directly by the beach which is perfect to take a quick swim in the ocean at any time. All the staff is amazingly friendly which makes you feel even more comfortable! Besides that, it‘s super calm and relaxing. Perfect if you want to have the experience of a relaxing and comfortable stay! Still, the drive to Arugam Bay only takes 15 minutes. Thanks!!
